Oregon Protect chainsaw Safety Helmet with Protective Ear Muff and Mesh Visor

This is a very good safety helmet indeed, particularly at the price. Wow! For an amateur gardener, tree feller and bramble slayer like me this is all I could ever need. The helmet is great quality. It's made from what are clearly quality materials and the overall construction and design are excellent. It's light and comfortable to wear for hours at a time. I also notice that my head doesn't sweat of feel as hot as I thought it might, the ventilation seems to be right on mark. The size is perfect and there's a lot of adjustment in the quick to use mechanism on the back of the strap. Some reviews concerned me, mentioning how fiddly is was to put together. Honestly, it took me less than 2 minutes after a very quick look at the product images and one of the videos on the product page. It all clicked together easily and it's very simple to do. We moved from a house in town to a largeish 'doer uppper' in a very rural area and I've now got a huge garden to clear of brambles and overgrowth and then to keep on top of. I did have a different mesh mask from Amazon that had no top covering, just a facial piece. It's OK but when the sun is beating down I was feeling like I was getting sun stroke and due to the design I couldn't wear a baseball cap. This solves that issue for me instantly and is a great relief. I've also got 3 or 4 moderate sized trees to fell and I didn't fancy it without the full protective gear. I'm clumsy at the best of times, last thing I need is a branch on the head when I'm chainsawing! Great piece of gear I'll be using constantly. Well done Oregon, recommended.

Having used this helmet on a regular basis over the past 14 months I think that this piece of equipment is good and fit for its intended purpose. However the assembly instructions are shocking! As an experienced person I spent over an hour following the instructions and getting nowhere. I ditched the instructions and did it myself in under 15 mins. In use the ear defenders are very good (cutting out noise from my petrol powered chipper and power washer) allowing me to work for longer periods. The mesh visor is very sturdy and swings up and down with no sticking or binding. The foam padding on the headband is ok and does its job. In the height of summer you will start to sweat, but I think that this would be the case with whatever you are wearing. Overall, ear and eye / face protection is good, head protection is good and it is lightweight when wearing. Would be 5 stars apart from the appalling assembly instructions. Will buy again as I now know how to put it together. Good price, good spec.

Of the dozens even hundreds of items I have bought off Amazon over the years this is by the far most remarkable I wish there were more than 5 stars. How is this safety helmet made at this price ???. Simple to put together, a little extra pressure need for the clips, but no instructions required, just a little common sense. My hat size is 7 7/8 inch, yes I'm a big chap and was reluctant to buy as I thought it would be too small. Without any adjustment fitted me perfectly out of the box and comfortably, with the interior bands covered in 'cloth'. It is very well made, and is held in place on the head by the pressure of the ear defenders that work wonderfully and far superior to the little yellow ear plugs I normally use. Time will tell if it us durable but experience to date suggests it will last for some time. I bought a new chain saw recently and considered ditching the safety goggles and ear plugs (I'm a domestic user with wood burner). Wished I bought one of these years ago, I cannot recommend this product enough, well done Oregon.

Good helmet! Good quality. The only adjustment is at the back and it does sit a bit higher on the head compared to other brands. But for under £20 it's great.

Seems pretty good. Much better than having loads of debris falling on me. The mesh face guard is very good. Comfortable to wear with an adjustable head band to keep it a snug fit. Ear defenders are very good and also comfortable. For the money it isn't worth working on hedges and trees without it.

Great price point and a great item covers my head size 7 3/4 very large and fits my wife’s too she has a lot smaller head. The visor is great mesh and the head phones do work and cut out a lot of noise.

Instructions booklet absolute rubbish; the print and diagrams are so small it's if they expect an eagle to read the thing. If you look at the product photos on the box or in the Amazon listing applying common sense it's easy, very easy, to work out how to assemble the product. The fit is good and easy to adjust. The ear defenders are excellent, doing a good job at muffling sound. The visor is great. At first, when I read the description I thought that the mesh may obscure one's vision but this turned out not to be the case. In use, the mesh in front of your face is barely noticed (your view of what you are working is in no way obstructed). The mesh is fine enough that it will block out most saw dust but.......if you are doing a lot of sanding, or cutting with a circular saw it would be advisable to also wear a dust mask to block the finest dust particles from entering your lungs. The mesh visor is easily removed for times when it's not needed. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be easy to remove the ear defenders but they can be rotated away from your ears if you don't want wear them (however, in this position they remain attached to the helmet). There's no chin strap for extra support/security. I would have preferred 'day glow' yellow as the colour rather than orange. The material from which the helmet is made seems very robust. All in all, an excellent product for the price.

Netjes verpakt en bezorgd. Product is echt degelijk met een uitstekende pasvorm. Zeer makkelijk middels draaiknop aan hoofd aan te passen. Heel goed! Ben zeer tevreden over de kwaliteit. Super.

Il prezzo è eccellente per le prestaszioni del prodotto: materiali di ottima qualità, testati e garantiti. Il casco ha visiera sollevabile integrata (rete, non plexiglass, quindi non appanna!) e cuffie antirumore integrate, quindi tutto resta fermo al suo posto e risulta comodissimo da indossare, massimo confort. Consigliato!
