Burt's Bees Natural Cleanser Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Cream – 1 x Tube 170 grams

I have used this product once daily for 6 months before writing this review. I am not loyal to many products, but this is one I now stock up on. It is lovely and creamy, it doesn’t lather up. I just massage it into my face, it leaves your skin with a lovely fresh tingly feeling - then remove with a hot wash cloth. It removes all traces of make up and if you gently spread it over your eye lids and under your eyes in the morning wash, the lovely tingly feeling really wakes up your tired eyes. It has never stung my eyes. I suffer from SAD, so mornings can be particularly painful and this gives me a much needed wake up boost and reduces puffiness. Gentle, natural and invigorating for morning use, my skin glows. Can’t find any fault with it and the price is very reasonable (cheaper on amazon!). One tube lasts me about 6 weeks, using it once daily. I use a 5p size blob each time.

Whilst I like to make a lot of my own cleansers and creams, I can't deny that some of Burt's Bees products (especially the cleansers) outperform what I can make myself, especially if you suffer with anything other than perfect skin. Things like soap bark being fantastic natural cleansers great at minimising oil production are not items I can source myself (unfortunately)I have oily spot prone skin and to minimise dead skin buildup I give myself a facial once a week. I use this as the first cleansing step. It is fantastic, I cannot stress it enough. The smell is beautiful, it doesn't smell like mint at all, it smells like sherbet. If my eyes were closed I would probably want to eat it. A small bit goes a long way, use it sparingly. It also contains witch hazel which is a great astringent and useful in reducing acne.There are a lot of comments that say it burns. The only sensation I feel after using this is one of deep clean and calm. My face feels lovely and fresh. But then I only use this once a week, perhaps these commenters are using this everyday, I wouldn't recommend using it daily as it is a 'deep' cleanser and may strip a lot of your skins natural oils away if used daily. Maybe once or twice a week is best.Edit - I realise where the comments regarding burning come from. If you leave the mask on your face for more than a few minutes, you will get a more intense 'tingling' sensation. But I think this is just the menthol as when I wash the mask off, my face isn't red or inflamed and the tingling sensation goes away pretty quickly.

I suffer from sensitive skin that varies from dry to oily; I use a separate cleanser and toner once a day to truly remove impurities but like to have a facewash for use in the shower. After trying various brands of so-called sensitive face washes which all promise to gently deep clean, I was still suffering from irritated skin and it would always feel very tight afterwards.Hail the revolution that is Burt's Bees Soap Bark and Chamomile Deep Cleansing Creme! The smell is divine, it's like rubbing a Refresher bar on your face! It smells of lemon sherbet and my mouth waters every time I use it. The consistency is thick and creamy, and you don't need to use much. It makes the skin tingle, similar to products that contain mint and/or tea tree, but it's a pleasant sensation that creates that deep-clean feel.Afterwards, my skin feels clean, pampered and very soft - I don't even need to use moisturiser which is rare! My face isn't irritated, it feels soothed - and I feel fresh and imagine I'm glowing after using this!

Refreshing and clarifying on the skin. It’s a cream cleanser, quite thick pasty consistency before adding water, no bubbles, just rub on your skin and rinse with warm water. I’m amazed with how the skin feels afterwards... slightly mattifying, very mild tingly feeling that feels a bit like tea tree oil (not sure what) so perfect for the morning routine. Good match for some of the luxury cosmetic brand’s face wash but with a fraction of price! Definitely going to buy again.

Lovely product good for dry skin.

This is a lovely cleanser, cleans the face well, I sometimes use it as a mini mask. I like the clean soft feels it leaves. I don't rinse it off with water, unless in the shower, if I'm just washing my face, I wipe with a flannel and warm water. Lasts well.

unfortunately this cream made my face skin red and puffy - do not know why - could not use.

This product is honestly a godsend for oily skin and the warmer weather coming up due to the menthol within the ingredients. I find that it doesn't strip all the moisture out of my skin - it simply cleanses the oil build up from the day so I definitely recommend it if your skin is picky with products.For my application process I only use a 2p sized dollop of the product, then spread it against my hands first before cleaning my face with it. More is less with this cleanser, you really don't need much to get it across the entire skin. The chamomile in this calms any redness I would get with other cleansers, and the soap bark is gentle enough that it doesn't feel like I've stripped my skin dry. Highly recommend!
