My son finally put this together and said it was fun. He showed me the final model, and it looks really cool! It's bigger than I expected, and the movement is a trip. It makes for a great desk decoration. Great gift for teens.

Very unique and well made

We haven't built this yet, but the kit is pretty impressive. Sturdy pieces, screws and tools packaged separately and securely, (note the screws are TINY so might need magnifiers/tweezers for those). Will be a nice addition to the collection once it's finished.

I loved working on this kit! This was the first time I have done a kit like this and I felt very confident while following the steps.The assembly booklet is very accurate and meticulously explains every step with a detailed schematic showing how the pieces go together. It gives warnings on steps that might cause confusion, such as a warning about making sure the pieces are facing the correct direction or making sure to pay special attention to where a wire lays so as not to cause issues later on. The materials are very sturdy and well numbered as well as some having spares for just in case.The box says "8+", which I assumed was referring to age, but the listing says for 14 and older. I feel that due to the small parts and super teeny tiny screws(and I do mean T I N Y) this kit is probably more for a teenager than a preteen. So maybe the 8+ is hours to complete? lolNow I want to do another one...my poor wallet...

This was my first foray into metal/plastic mechanical models. I have enjoyed ROKR’s wood models in the past, this one was just as good. Follow the instructions carefully, and double check your work before and after each step! It is pretty easy to miss a part and have to go back. I also found an illuminated magnifier a great help, unless your used to working on watches and cell phones. It’s not just the challenge of assembly, but the working model, that I enjoy, and this did not disappoint.

I picked this out because I thought it was really interesting and has kind of a modern steampunk aesthetic.I haven't assembled it yet so I will give my impressions as if I had received this as a gift.The kit very much feels like a modern Gundam model kit in which the pieces are pre-colored on the sprue. This even goes a step further to add details and markings so there is really no painting necessary while building this. Just separate the pieces from the sprue and assemble.I will say that there are a bunch of very tiny parts and screws that make me question whether this kit could actually be assembled by an 8 year old as the box suggests. I don't think I would buy this for anyone younger than 10 and I'd definitely lean towards preteen to teen. That's highly subjective though so maybe you know that highly-focused 8 year old who's able to handle tiny parts and kits with meticulous assembly skills.Regardless, this is a very cool kit that I'm looking forward to assembling.UPDATE: I did build it and wow was it an enjoyable build! The key is to take your time and make sure you are looking at each step fully before you proceed.
