Q: How much does this weigh when empty? i’m looking for a toiletry/makeup bag that is lighter than my current l.l. bean bag.

It is lightweight. Mine is heavy after I fill it, but is so handy and organizes your toiletries wonderfully!

Q: Any issues with TSA in a carry on?

I really can't say because I have not flown since 2016. If you place this cosmetic bag inside your carry-on, you might be ok as long as you follow the required sizes for liquids which I believe is still 3 ounces in a quart size zip bag. Look on the internet under the air carrier to find out for sure. Hopes this info helps!
