This study Bible is absolutely amazing. I’m a lover of study bibles in general, but the addition of Spurgeon’s notes and sermons is amazing. This has become my second most used Bible now. Not as dense in info as the ESV study Bible, but an absolute must for anyone trying to understand the Word better, or for lovers of CH Spurgeon.

Surprised my wife with this bible for Christmas and she was very happy with it. Spurgeon is her favorite reference when preparing Sunday School and Ladies Bible Study lessons. The type is a little small but there is a whole lot of text between the covers. She has no problem reading it.

This is a great study Bible!

This is my first Bible in the CSB translation. I've been wonderfully pleased with it. The ESV and NASB are my typical go-to translations. The CSB sticks close to them but with slight differences in wording without changing the meaning but making it even more clear in places. Spurgeon's notes are a gem. I expected more of a commentary style in his notes, but instead, Spurgeon does a masterful job of showing how God's timeless Word applies to our lives in every generation. He helps us respond to the truths in God's Word with piercing wisdom and a deep love for and knowledge of Scripture and the God of Scripture. I've already given it as gifts to others!

If you temper your expectation of this Study Bible as a devotional commentary of Spurgeon, then you will enjoy this Study Bible, because this study Bible is not your typical study Bible (for example: ESV Study Bible, CSB Study Bible, Reformation Study etc). It does not have extensive scholarly study notes of the passage, but rather pastoral insight into the passage that is warm, practical, and devotional. For example: commenting on John 6:29, "This is the work of God - that you believe in the one he has sent", Spurgeon notes, "Faith is most pleasing to God because it is the comprehensive summary of all true work. There lies within a heart of faith every possible form of holiness....etc " (p. 1431). On Revelation 2:4-5, "you have abandoned the love you had at first..." he notes, "What love we had for our Savior the first time he forgave our sins. When we first loved him, how passionate we were. There was not a single thing in the Bible that we did not consider most precious... Where did we lose our first love, if we have lost it? Have we lost it in the world? Too much of the world is a bad thing for any person... There are a thousand possible reasons, but each person must search his own heart" (p. 1695). His notes are eminently pastoral. And in that regard, I think it succeeded.As for physical side of the Bible: Fonts (both the Bible and the notes) are clear and dark enough to read comfortably. Since it is Smyth-sewn (ie. stitched binding and not glued to the spine), it will last a long time without the pages falling apart. The hardcover is attractive with a dust jacket. A great quality overall!If you want to know what Spurgeon sounded like as a preacher, this is a great study Bible for you! Highly Recommended!

My husband was so delighted to get this for Christmas! We listen to several of Spurgeon's sermons (retold of course) regularly and this was perfect for him!

I appreciate the pleasant font size/style and the thoughtful footnotes. I cannot give it five stars because it does not have the words of Jesus in red. Also, it would be nice if it were indexed. But overall, it is a great Bible and it is the one I am carrying to church every week.

Love this book but it came bound upside down and back to front. Kinda funny though and its still a really nice binding so im going to keep it!
