What a great resource! What makes it great is that it is the product of years of actual classroom experience. There is no substitute for the wisdom you will find in the sequence and the content of these lessons. If you are a beginning teacher with little or no experience, you can hit the ground running with this book. Or, if you are an experienced teacher looking to "up your game" and fine-tune your lesson plans, this book is for you as well. The lessons are designed for beginners and progress slowly and with ample reinforcement to ensure that each skill is mastered before moving on to the next skill. The lessons are both fun and relevant, and they are designed so that students interact with each other to communicate. This approach makes learning fun and is leagues ahead of the many "chalk-and-talk" workbooks out there right now. The price is very reasonable and clearly designed so that school districts can purchase it as a resource for their student populations who are in desperate need of clear and concise English language instruction THAT WORKS!

I have used Chris Balli's book English Language Learning with Super Support: A Workbook with adult ESL students. Using the lessons as guides for English conversation, the students practice by repeating the sentences in the lessons using vocabulary from preceding lessons. The repetitive nature of the practice enables the students to hear and speak English with each other . They help each other with vocabulary and pronunciation and often add their own additional information to the sentences they repeat. The students learn quickly using this method and have immediate reinforcement in their learning. Each subsequent lesson gives them more useful English vocabulary and practice in English usage and thus, more success in learning their new language.

Been using this book with my ultimate beginner students and overall really like how it progresses... Some words are difficult for a beginner such as “Laundromat” and the pictures are not that great as visuals to help. But I would still recommend to anyone teaching/learning English.

This book is very low level language book, but, for beginners it is valuable. I am teaching a Spanish speaking adult to speak English and we do the exercises in this book together. It's helpful in learning beginning conversation.

Outdated and not effective practice for beginner ELLs

Content good, but limited to high school students. I needed more general adult targets.

This is a good workbook for new ESL students. I use it for adults although it is written more for teenagers. The grammar practice is good.
