Are they vegan? (meaning no gelatin or casein or whey?)

Hi Amber,  Thanks for inquiring about the Sport Energy Chews by Skratch Labs.  They are indeed vegan, as they are made with pectin instead of gelatin.  They are also free from casein or whey or any other animal products.  Here are the ingredients for the orange flavor: sugar, tapioca syrup, grape juice concentrate, pectin, citric acid, fumaric acid, orange juice powder, sea salt, sodium citrate

How much caffeine per serving?

Hi Liz,
The Skratch Labs Energy Chews in Orange do not contain any caffeine.  They are designed to provide energy during activity when you are using carbohydrate as your main fuel source and for that reason, they provide energy in the form of carbohydrates with simple sugars and tapioca syrup to avoid the dreaded "bonk".  The Matcha Green Tea and Lemon Energy Chews do contain a little bit of caffeine from natural green tea, but the other 2 flavors of Orange and Raspberry do not contain caffeine.

why sodium again? Becasue it's cheap, common table salt? Isn't potassium way more beneficial for the body?

Skratch uses sodium because it's the primary electrolyte found in sweat. About 90% of sweat is made up of Na, that's the why and reason for the sodium in our products. Table salt is Sodium chloride, we use Sodium citrate, you can refer to our ingredient list on the product page second photo on the left.
