Can I use this to measure the thickness of Nitrile gloves?

I don’t see why not as there is not much pressure at the point of “contact”. We typically use for measuring polyethylene and polypropylene films from 7 microns to 180 microns thick.

Will this measure the thickness of a hair? Or a piece of fiber with a micron count around 20?

It will measure to .0001mm. If it's smaller than that then your going to spend some big bucks. Because the Japanese tools don't go any smaller than .001mm either

Does this come with a base assembly of any kind? Is a ball anvil available?
