Outstanding
This book catches you from the beginning and never let's go till the end I have read all of the Chesapeake Shore Novels and I an always satisfied with the outcome. Ms. Woods is a fantastic author and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future. She is among one of my favorite authors. I give it more than 5 stars if I could. Keep on writing, sherry Woods. 💓💓

The Healing of a Wounded Warrior
Harbor Lights is Book three in the Chesapeake Shores series and is the story of newly single father Kevin O'Brien and bookshop owner Shanna Carlyle.Former army medic Kevin moves home to Chesapeake Shores with his two-year-old son Davy following his wife's death in Iraq. Devastated and guilt-ridden, Kevin wants a safe haven for himself and his son, and no place is better than home with his large Irish-American family. He knows he can count on them for support, and the seaside community offers a future very different from his past. He doesn't count on finding bookseller Shanna Carlyle.Shanna has left an alcoholic husband and a stepson she adores, and she's gun shy about becoming involved with anyone else, especially someone with capital B baggage. However, what begins as a wary friendship, gets a huge boost from the meddling O'Brien clan who want happiness for their brother and son. And Shanna finds little Davy and his wounded father hard to resist. But just when they are becoming comfortable with their new-found relationship, trouble from Shanna's past threatens to destroy what they've built.Ms. Woods does it again with this tale of the irrepressible O'Brien clan. Each new story brings another O'Brien into focus while continuing the stories of the rest of the family. At times the meddling is over the top, but that's the way of the O'Briens, and Ms. Woods creates charming, three-dimensional characters.I enjoyed Shanna's character and her journey to love, and while I felt Kevin's change of heart seemed rushed, the ending was immensely satisfying.

Loving this series.
I have read this series before years ago.n but starting it over is like being with an old friend, or should I say old and new friends?! I know I will savor each book and character and new characters and relationships.

Better
This was a better story line that the first 2 in this series. The complication of the step son was more interesting. The snarkiness of the family was sharper and funnier. Not quite as much repetition in the back story so that was good.

I am hooked on the Chesapeake Shores series. The characters are well defined and believable. I recommend this series to anyone looking for an interesting story about an interesting family.

Escapist romantic fiction
The third in the series by Sherryl Woods involves Shanna, who is setting up a bookshop in the small, idyllic town overrun by members of the O'Brien family and Kevin who is widowed and grieving. As expected, they both bring lots of baggage to the relationship and Kevin's family interfere a lot. There are some cute kids and some wholesome life messages about the importance of family. This is good, escapist, fun reading. It is not particularly challenging but it does not set out to be. If easy reading and feelgood romance is what you want then this is a good enough example. The whole set of books which introduces you to a town and a raft of characters gives the author a bit of time to include some sub-plots and additional characters and the books benefit from this.(Incidentally, in my Kindle edition, the prologue is found at the end of the main story ... I was surprised that the first words of the book were "eighteen months later" and when I reached the end I discovered why !!)

What an annoying family the O'Briens are.
From reading the first book of this series I loved reading about this family. The characters became real to me and I couldn't put the book down.I wanted to find out what happened next.An easy read but very enjoyable.Looking forward to the next book.Monica.

Rushed
I didn't like this one as much as the previous two. It seemed very rushed, I know it's a romance and things happen fast but this was too much and very cheesy.

Harbour Lights
Have now read three or four of the Chesapeake Shore novels - these are not taxing but generally enjoyable light reading perfect for holidays and travelling. I would certainly recommend the series.
