Photoshop CC: Essential Skills: A guide to creative image editing

I will write a review once I will be more familiar with this book. Visually speaking it is not attractive, but I am sure there is a lot of useful info. Personally I am dreaming of interactive college books made like children books, but for adults. It is so easier to learn when the visual and contents are simple, colorful, and go straight to the point having fun adapting to your level and how you learn, like in a game for instance.

The book was well written. Only in chapter 1 and learned some very useful information.Update: Unfortunately, as Photoshop continues to change, the book is less accurate. It's still useful for some things in 2018.

A solid introduction to Photoshop CC. I bought it because I was taking a community college digital photography course that did not have an assigned textbook. This would have made an excellent text for the course.

The exercise are not easy and hard to achieve and understand. The reader should have a high level of Photoshop skill to achieve the exercises.Not recommended for novices

Mark Galer is a top-notch photographic artist, writer, educator and well-known Photoshop guru. I learned a great deal about image editing from his books on Photoshop Elements from v5 to v10. In a nutshell, this 'book' (it is much more than that) aims to bring you up to speed in image editing using the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in which Adobe includes with Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC. I said this is much more than a book; what you're buying into here, should you go ahead with an order, is a complete self-instructional course in using the latest version (at the time) of ACR. mark Galer and his co-author provide a superb package of learning resources to go with the text. The materials include instructional videos, learning exercises and sample 'edited' images with which you can compare your own enhanced images.Shooting in Raw and post-processing in ACR for me has been nothing short of a revelation; each year, it seems, Adobe adds more features and functions to ACR that previously could only be found in Photoshop. I am an enthusiastic amateur, not a professional image editor and I have found that ACR has such a comprehensive array of tools that I rarely need to launch Photoshop proper.Since this book was published I think Adobe Lightroom may have eclipsed Adobe Bridge as the preferred means of organising ones images. So if you already have Lightroom the part of the book that deals with Bridge will not be relevant to your needs. However the ACR plug-in in Lightroom and Photoshop is essentially one and the same which means that as far as image editing using ACR is concerned, Photoshop CC by Mark Galer is relevent whether you happen to use Lightroom or Photoshop. Five stars.

I have purchased these books since photoshop cs3 , which came with training cd Roms , now you have to down down the training, so you can note open in bridge I find this a lot harder to learn , I will be trying another writer on the next photoshop version
