Can the spigot be disassembled to clean? I need a replacement that I can take apart for easy cleaning.

It can be taken off the decanter, but does not come apart. I clean it by putting it soapy water with a little brush in the open lock position. The clean it out with a straw brush.

Is this a holding down type of dispenser?

It is both, you can press down on lever or raise it for larger fills.
