This is one Spyder I could definitely get used to!!
I should preface this review by letting the prospective buyer that is reading this know that I had never shot a bow before, but had been curious about archery for a while. All opinions given are those of someone with no previous knowledge of archery. I did a bit of research and ended up choosing this particular bow, based on customer reviews and all of the videos that came up featuring this bow when I searched for information regarding beginners archery. And, if I'm being honest, it was also the most beautiful recurve bow I came across, regardless of price range. I really think this is a great bow.Out of the box, it was pretty simple to figure out. The pieces are all wrapped separately, as this is a takedown bow and was made to be assembled and disassembled with ease. And it's pretty easy to figure out what's what. There are several videos on YouTube teaching the assembly of this bow, and I decided that while I was waiting on it to get to me I would have a look at them just in case, but really, its not hard to figure out, even for someone like myself that had never touched a bow before.I do recommend that if you're a novice considering the Spyder, choose the option that comes with the stringer tool. There is a technique that you can use to string the bow using your legs, but I only learned of it after I had already bought the bow with the stringer tool. Still, I'm glad I got it. If you have never done it before you could find it difficult, or even hurt yourself trying to use the "through the legs" technique. At one point the bow string snapped back on my hand while i was trying to string it (using the tool)...and lets just say it smarts. It smarts real good.I was excited to shoot my new bow after getting it assembled and strung (which only took a few minutes), but I didn't have any nocking points on the bow string, and I wanted to put them on before my first shot, to prevent developing any bad habits in my form. This bow did NOT come with its own, but I found that they are pretty cheap and come several to a pack, and pretty much any big box sporting goods store has them. After getting the nock points put on, I was anxious to shoot my spiffy new bow, so I threw together a target and shot a few rounds outside. As I said before, I am a novice, so I've nothing to compare it to, but it was easy to shoot and So.Much. FUN!It feels great in your hand, they obviously spent some time on the ergonomics. The arrow rest that they've included with the bow is okay, it does the job, but the adhesive started to slip after using the bow on the day I took these pictures. Same for the bow string. Its started to fray a bit, after only a few days use, but I realize it could be due to something I've done, or the inconsistent way I'm shooting right now, so I chose not to hold that against the manufacturer for the purposes of this review. Its still a wonderful bow.So, overall this is a great bow for a beginner, and I'm really glad I went with this one. This was a comfortable price point for me, but be advised, there are a few other items you might want to pick up if you are like me and started from scratch. Arrows, nocking points, shooting glove, arm guard, and a 3D target are all things you may find yourself needing.I'm pleased with my purchase all the way across the board. It was exactly as advertised, shipped quickly, and both ergonomically and aesthetically pleasing. I think nearly anyone would be satisfied with this bow, whether it be a novice wanting to target shoot, or a bow fisherman wanting a new recurve (I watched several videos of sportsman using this bow to fish and hunt). It did not disappoint.

Nice, comfortable bow
I ordered a 60 lb Spyder takedown bow and got a tracking confirmation that it had arrived. A day later I still did not have the bow, so I put in an inquiry on a Saturday and received a message back from We R Archery within one day, on a Sunday, confirming that the package was registered as delivered, that Amazon oversaw the shipping, and that I should take up my inquiry with them. That’s fair and I appreciate the prompt reply. I waited a few more days to see if there was just a shipping glitch when a neighbor down the road suddenly dropped off a package that had been delivered to his house by mistake. When the bow arrived it was well packaged, the riser and limbs were well protected, and the limbs fit perfectly on the riser. It was easy enough to string without a stringer (hadn’t arrive yet), but I ordered a stringer to limit the risk of accidentally twisting the limbs. The bow is comfortable in the hand, very easy to shoot, but just a little too many lbs for me to hold steady comfortably for many shots. However, I liked it enough to order the identical model at 35 lb for practice, which has now come in and is very nice to shoot. It’s like the difference between target practice with a .22 or a .308 rifle. One note: I tried out the little stick on arrow rest, but it popped off after three or four shots. I then had to clean off all the residual adhesive to reduce friction. Not really a necessary addition. The only thing I regret in buying this one is that there does not appear to be an ambidextrous riser available (eg for changing hands and/or shooting on same side as loading hand). Anybody know of an ambidextrous riser confirmed as compatible with the Spyder limbs?

Fantastic First Bow and well made
I really enjoy my new Spyder. I am new to archery and went with the 29 lb limbs which I think are great for me. I am average build 5' 10 male ,but my upper body strength has never been great. As a beginner it's easy to use and seems accurate. I addeed a sight (TOPOINT ARCHERY 3 Pin Bow Sight) which allows me to see how consistant I am with my technique and accuracy. You can't go wrong with this bow. The wood and finish is beautiful and the rounded edges makes for a nice firm comfortable grip. Recommend to anyone interested in getting into Archery!!

Very pleased
Very pleased with this purchase. The bow seems to be smooth shooting. I chose to use the flipper rest rather than shooting from the shelf as I've always been a fan of flipper rests and a benefit of using them I can shot arrows Fletched with plastic vanes as well as feather. The box came damaged ends crushed but the product was not damaged. I was hoping to be able to use the box for storage but it was too crumpled. I ended up purchasing a take down bow storage bag for storage which i the long run is better than storing in a cardboard box. The manual was missing from the box but when I contacted the seller they supplied me with an online copy which I prefer to printed. Very please with the purchase. I was also looking at the Samack Sage but this looked like a better/more refined version of the Samack Sage.

My first Recurve Bow
I am very pleased with the quality of this bow. I didn't want to spend a lot on a recurve because I'm just starting with it, and I shoot primarily compound. This was the perfect combination. The bow is inexpensive, but provides some great features that enable you to add on. Also, by buying different limbs, I can adjust the draw weight of the bow. The pictures do not do the bow justice. The pictures look like it is a bright green & red, but it is a very deep wood color.I highly recommend it for a beginner just getting into recurve archery.
