BILITOOLS Strut Spreader Tool, Steering Knuckle Spreader, 120 Nm Max Torque

This tool is awesome. It might be nice if one of the pair of fingers was slightly longer than the other so that it would reduce the risk of slippage. With care in alignment it’s not really a problem but would be nice to have. It made easy work of swapping struts out that were installed for more than 20 years with this and a quick shot of PB blaster. Very high quality. The tool had the right amount of hardening on the alloy steel without being over hardened to brittleness.

Works perfectly and with ease. Used it on a mercedes benz cla. Removed strut from knuckle with no hammering. Mercedes tech. Recommend to others in the shop.

Solid little booger but it didn't fit for the ball joint section of the knuckle. I figured something out for that but boy it made putting the struts back in a whole lot easier.

The factory manual for multiple VWs and Audis calls out VW tool 3424 to spread the wheel bearing housing for strut/damper removal and installation. The factory tool is simply a non-round bit that you put in the slot and rotate 90 degrees to open the slot. This tool works much better than the factory tool at opening the slot in the housing and is very stable at holding the slot open. We used the tool on a VW Alltrack, but it will work on any VW or Audi calling for the 3424 tool. I highly recommend this tool.

Works great , I use weekly at the shop. Gets in the right spaces , doesn’t hit the shock, and is a quality overall tool.

Did not fit. It is too thick for the lower control arm ball joint to steering knuckle. Which, unfortunately, is specifically what I purchased it for. However, it did fit for the steering knuckle to the strut and performed excellently. The parts separated with minimal effort which is a major difference compared to my usual method of having to arduously beat the knuckle with a mini sledge hammer.

Works well so far. The only thing I wonder about is it doesn’t have any name on the tool so how do I know what brand it’s. The reason I bought it because it has a name, usually it has better quality. I will update when it fails

A time and energy saver, I don't even know how its possible to do the job of separating the shock from the steering knuckle on our Mazda3 2012. Even after cleaning and applyinh anti seize inside the hub, without using this tool to pry the jaws outward, there is no way the shock simply slides in the knuckle. Even with proper alignment and a jack.

Great tool for helping to remove the knuckle assembly from the strut. Little learning curve to getting it to work correctly, but once you get the hang of it, works great.
