great cast substitute f "minor" fracture
Update: My arm's healed well and it's been 4 weeks since the injury. I no longer wear a splint or a sling, but I do put on this brace when I go to bed, so I don't accidentally re-injure the elbow in my sleep. Works great. Can be washed, which is great.I slipped on a curb and fell on my hands. Apparently, it's common. I went to Urgent Care. They x-rayed and found a "nondisplaced closed radial elbow fracture". They put me in a splint and referred me to an orthopaedist. Since ortho never called, and I wasn't in pain (as long as I didn't move the elbow). I decided to forgo an actual cast. I have FDA-approved red light therapy devices (PlatinumLED), and am doing 15 minutes 2xday. Can't do that with a cast. After 4 days the swelling went down to the point of the splint rubbing against bone, causing pain. This brace fixes that. Comfortable, easy enough to take off and put on. Nothing rubs against the bone. I can do my red light therapy and light physical therapy, to prevent the elbow going stiff. The neck strap doesn't work for me. I prefer to use the sling they gave me at Urgent Care. The brace is about the size of the (fiberglass) splint they had given me, so it fits fine.

A bit awkward but effective
Given that there are so few combination elbow and wrist braces (this is literally the only one I found on amazon), I gave this brace an extra star or two for simply existing. The positives: It does a good job immobilizing both the elbow and the wrist and is more comfortable than the the hard plastic brace supplied by my orthopedic surgeon's office. The negatives: The Velcro straps are confusing and awkward lengths. The splint forearm length needs to be designed an inch or so shorter so more than just the very tips of your fingers poke out. The shoulder strap is kind of a joke. It's a very narrow, uncomfortable nylon strap, is the wrong length, and it is sewn in so you must wear it or let it dangle to your feet. If I keep the brace I will definitely be cutting it off.

Very uncomfortable. Sending back
I bought this to wear as opposed to paying the 400 that my insurance wouldn't cover for a splint after cubital tunnel surgery. Because I needed both elbows fixed, I thought this would be perfect since it's universal. Nope!!1. It never came with the neck strap. I'm not sure if I would've used this or not, but the fact it should've been there and wasn't, automatically takes off a star. Some reviews say it wasn't padded which means it probably wasn't very comfortable, but I'll never know.2. The Velcro system is garbage. Who puts super narrow Velcro on a brace designed for someone with arm, hand or elbow problems? I found it nearly impossible to line the Velcro up to perfectly fit in the fasteners and then tighten it on my own. I tried multiple times and had to get help every time. The Velcro should be wider and much more heavy duty and the slots it fits in to for tightening and support need to be in better spots so a person can reach them on their own without needing two people every time.3. The size! I measured my arms. I had my husband measure my arms a second time just to be safe. This thing is just simply weirdly sized. If I were to have bought the one the didn't go almost too my fingertips, it wouldn't have fit my bicep, but vice versa, since I did buy the one to fit my bicep, this almost covered my fingers completely. I went this route because I knew I'd have swelling in and around my elbow after surgery so I didn't dare go with the smaller size. What a pain this was trying to wear for those couple of days.4. The pain. Because of surgery swelling this thing was painful to wear. There are 3 metal supports in it. All the are L shaped with 2 running from bicep down your forearm and the other under your elbow and down that way. Any attempt at movement meant these metal rods were rubbing my surgery wounds. 21 stitches for the cubital tunnel surgery and 12 for tennis elbow surgery. It didn't matter how we tried padding or adjusting, this was awful. With all this said, I tried for about a week before sending it back. I couldn't find a comfortable way to wear it and I have yet to do the other elbow so I don't want to wait beyond my return window. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else.

Excellent long arm splint
There are hundreds if not thousands of wrist splints on the market but very few long arm splints that can immobilize wrist and elbow. This one does the job quite well, whether you have an elbow condition or a wrist condition that is aggravated by elbow movement/wrist rotation. The only minor quibble is that the neck strap for the sling is was sewn in, which leaves you with the issue of where to put the strap if you aren't using it. I generally didn't want it over my neck, so I ended up cutting the strap off underneath. I left the loop, and I can still thread the strap through there if I want to use it as a sling, but why not just make it that way. That minor fix aside, this does exactly what I was hoping for. It basically functions as a removable long arm cast, avoiding the drawbacks of a hard fiberglass cast. Also, I've found that stockinette between this and your skin can improve the comfort, but it's not absolutely necessary. All in all, excellent quality splint with few competing products.

Best Brace! Very Comfortable!
I couldn't find a better brace anywhere. I had a very hard time finding one of this quality. Provides outstanding support & security for my pronator teres reduction surgery. The only improvements I would make is to provide a sling type/over the shoulder support to relieve the neck pressure caused by the neck loop type provided. I fashioned one from a velcro strap that was part of my DonJoy TSR surgery brace. Other than that, I couldn't be happier with it! Great price for the high quality of this item.

Great brace wrong size
I realize I wasn't able to use my mouse to the keyboard while wearing this brace and it isn't going to do me no good to keep taking it off to use the mouse. I measured it beforehand but I guess I need one that doesn't cover the hand so that I can still brace my arm while using the computer
