Q: Where is this product made?

It is definitely not made in USA. The label clearly states "Made in China".

Q: What is the "special material to make it more durable and healthier?"

The product description says it is beech wood. My father-in-law owned a sawmill and my husband says the wood looks like it could be beech to him. The only ¨special material" I can guess this is referring to is a coat of varnish or some similar finish. It is definitely more durable to use sealed wood. Easier to clean, so maybe healthier too. I have had this drying rack since April 2022. I use it mostly for drying silicon bags. I can vouch for the quick drying. The finish is still perfect and very smooth.
