Easy to install
We are rebuilding an old camper. The slide needed a lot of work and was pretty water damaged before the rebuild. We decided to add a slide awning to decrease the amount of water hitting the slide. We didn’t want to spend a ton of money. This did the trick. It was easy to install. One person did everything except attach the awning material to the channel on the camper. Rolls in and out nicely. Watched a YouTube video before starting. That helped. The instructions were a bit lacking. The second spring lock pin is hard to pull out as there is tension on it. Other than that, fairly easy.

Good product, instructions are not!
We were missing screws and the instructions didn't state there were safety clips that needed to be removed. It caused damage to the brackets that we have to repair. That was disappointing to say the least. Other then that it does seem to be descent quality material.

Terrible installation instructions, and lacking proper product description
This is a decent quality product, but the combination of a product description that lacks the information necessary to help you purchase the correct size, and installation instructions that leave out certain very important pieces of information, make it a piece of hot garbage. Let's start with the product description. As far as I can tell, they only give you two pieces of information on the size of the unit; overall length, and the width (length, really) of the fabric. There is nothing to tell you what RANGE of SLIDE lengths it will actually fit. As it turns out, this is very important. Because the next size up was quite a bit longer than my slide and I was worried it would not fit, I went with one that was just a little bit shorter than my overall slide length (including the flange), knowing that the fabric wouldn't actually extend past the sides of the actual slide. I knew this could be a problem in terms of allowing a little rainwater onto the top of the slide, but assumed it wouldn't affect the actual installation. I was wrong. Once installed, you will find that there is enough "slop" in the fitment of the parts that it will allow the hardware on the end of the drum to impact the flange if it isn't installed such that the end of the drum extends well BEYOND the flange on both sides. This would have been very easy to clarify in the description: "Fits slides XX"-XX" long", with the explanation that the measurement should include the flange. What happens when the drum impacts the flange? Well, look at my photos to see what it did to my BRAND NEW trailer. I was able to redrill holes and take out some of the slop with higher quality fasteners, but it's still dangerously close. Now, let's talk about the instructions. Don't get me wrong, this would have been downright impossible without them, but it'd also be impossible if you followed them to the T. It is necessary to deviate a bit in order to get this thing installed. Fortunately for me, I had another RV with a similar slide-cover installed that I could reference to at least figure out which direction to install the drum. But that doesn't help you with things like figuring out which fasteners go where. Notice in my photos of the instructions that, while the fasteners are labeled with letters on the second page, they are not labeled in the actual drawings. It's easy enough to figure it out if you're reasonably handy, but as a lot of the screws are self-tapping and of odd sizes, you kind of only get one chance with them. So, if you try the wrong one first, you're totally screwed (no pun intended). Most importantly, they don't mention anywhere, as far as I saw, that there are two retainer clips that prevent the drum from spinning, which must be removed before you operate the slide. Additionally, removing them, unrolling the slide a bit, and them reinstalling them to create some slack will GREATLY ease installation, and help ensure everything aligns correctly. I wish I'd know this, as it would have saved me from extending the slide with them still installed and ripping out the mounting brackets on my slide, creating holes in my BRAND NEW trailer.Overall, it's a good product, but it's probably worth a call to Lippert to ensure you're getting the correct size, and you might want to see if there are any YouTube videos out there that show the nuances of installation. The one bright side of the installation is that it only took me about two hours (and would have been less than an hour if I'd had better instructions and hadn't had to uninstall it and basically do it all over again), and I was easily able to get the thing into the rail by myself despite the fact that it says you need "at least two people". Quality once installed appears to be pretty good. Not that it matters, because it's not like there are many alternatives to Lippert these days.

Make sure you have a #2 square bit and Allen wrench set handy for installation
Would have been nice if the square bit and Allen wrench required to install the fasteners would have been included in the box. Had to stop what I was doing and run to the hardware store. For this amount of money the tools should have came with it. Otherwise it is what I expected.

When you have a WHITE TOPPER wash your hands!!!
IT TAKES 2 people, about an hour to install and 2 ladders.

Easy Replacement
This unit was relatively easy to install for 2 people. You need a little basic DIY experience but not a lot. I have both tools and experience. This was a direct replacement for a topper that did battle with an overhead tree branch and lost. I was fortunate the old awning did not damage to coach, merely breaking at the support arms. The new brackets were easily installed in the exact location as the old, then the adjustments of the side to side fit was easy with the adjustable mounts. It took about 2 hours to complete and was relatively cuss free. That's high praise from me, where most projects suffer much more from the CUSS FACTOR!

A little pricey.
Easy to install hardware, canvas takes 2 people. Great quality. Instructions could be better organized.

Worked better than expected!
Topper came with everything except the sealing tape as expected. Install was straight forward (Youtube made it easy). Took our Camper out for the the first time and went through several major downpours and not a single drop of rain got through. I expected some flapping with the storm winds but the topper didn’t budge an inch. 13’6” Black topper.

Arm bent at one end when removed from package and slide in brackets do not work.
The arm was bent at one end of the awning roller and the shipping tube was not damaged during shipment so it must have been bent by the manufacturer before placing it in the shipping tube. Outer bracket can not slide into the inner bracket because the windows on my slide out are too close (poor design). I had to drill out the outer brackets and screw them directly to the slide out without using the inner brackets. The screws provided for fastening the brackets to the slide out are also too small and short. The manufacturer need to improve design and take serious look at their poor quality control!

Happy Camper!
I bought this unit for our new motorhome, for use on the rear "bedroom" slide out. The first camping trip we took with our new unit had a few rainy nights. The sound of rain hitting the roof of the slide out kept waking me up, very annoying. I went back to the dealer and priced a unit installed, and fell over >$1000. I'm handy so found this unit online. It came quickly, in great shipping tube, well protected. Instructions were good, and a few hours later it was on. We have now used it for several months, no issue and it is standing up well. It keeps the rain, leaves, twigs etc off the roof of the slide out, and I don't hear the rain hitting it. I'm totally pleased, and would buy it again. I don't know how long the Tarp portion will last but I intend to clean it and give it a treatment this coming spring.

Unfortunately arrived damaged.
Ordered this in April, and it arrived in October (likely due to Covid). Unfortunately it got bent somewhere along the way. Customer Service said “there was a problem” when I requested an exchange in the App, so now I’m in the process of returning it. It’s too bad cause otherwise it looks great, and the price was very reasonable! I’ll probably try to buy one again, but the camper is in storage now.

So far so good
Fit is perfect for my 2012 ORV Creekside 23RKS and will provide added protection from the elements and tree debris. I installed it solo with a good ladder, and used butyl tape behind the strip, with the screws exposed under the awning. On the slide brackets I also used butyl tape, as well as silicone along the top and side edges for extra protection. I do wonder about any potential for wind damage while travelling down the road, as about 5" of the fabric is exposed. I'll be checking for any fraying of the fabric but hopefully it should be fine.It arrived with some minor damage (a few scrapes and the flat strip was bent, also two missing screws) but I was able to touch it up and find two extra screws and paint them white. A discount for the damage would be nice...as it's kind of a challenging item to return and exchange. Comes in a big cardboard tube - the one end was not secured well and the awing had slid out during shipping.
