I was searching for a digital dimmer compatible with LED bulbs. Most dimmer switches will not work with very low wattage bulbs like LEDs and compact fluorescents, and in the past Lutron was the only manufacturer of these advanced digital dimmers. I didn't like the quality of the Lutron dimmers. The plastic pieces felt as if they would break at any moment. Additionally, the matching Lutron outlets, wall plates, etc. are VERY expensive compared to the competition, and the quality does not justify the price.After some research I discovered Cooper makes a superior product. The switch feels sturdier, and has ALL the functions of the Lutron for about the same price. I also liked that I could buy matching Cooper outlets and wall plates at any Lowes for a very reasonable price. I love the gradual fade when the light is turned on and off. The dimmer also remembers the last setting, and can even delay turning the light off for about 10 seconds (to exit the room) by holding the button down for 2 seconds.This dimmer requires a neutral (white) wire for installation. This is usually not a problem with newer homes, but you'll want to make sure you have access to a neutral wire inside your switch box.

Despite being listed as an approved switch by the fixture manufacturer, this switch made the buzzing and flashing of the LED fixture much worse. Customer support said they weren't familiar with the fixture so unable to help.

This control is simple, smart technology that does everything I need for a light or a bank of lights. LED fixture Halo works well with it on the four banks I put in.

I bought this as it claimed to be compatible with the new LED bulbs we installed. Unless the lights are on full power, there is an annoying hum when dimmed. That was the whole reason to buy these-dim the LED bulbs and not have the hum.

Works great on led or incandesent

I could not get these switches to work well. The LED lights sporadically dim without reason. I have checked the bulbs and they are fine. The switches also made the bulbs about as half as bright as they are in any other fixture in the house. Something inside them reduces power delivered and so even at the maximum level you can set them to, they are much too dim. Everything from the wiring to the operation is frustrating with these. I do not recommend them at all.

I installed a bunch of Halo RA56 and RL56 LED Recessed Lighting Modules. On the Halo website there is a brochure for the RA56 and RL56 units and this dimmer is featured as one of four compatible dimmers. So.. I ordered them. Turns out that whoever put the brochure together for Halo screwed up. With these dimmers, I got buzzing noise and flashing from the LED modules. After go round and round with Cooper Wiring's tech support and Halo's tech support (same company, but different divisions) I finally learned that these dimmers are NOT compatible with Electronic Low Voltage (ELV) LED modules. After searching, I ended up going with dimmers from a company called Pass and Seymour. They have a Universal Dimmer that is compatible with almost all types of lighting fixtures (Pass & Seymour Model #H703PTUTC). The P&S dimmers are not "smart" dimmers, but they work great. Very good customer service from Amazon in taking these dimmers back, even though I had already thrown out the packaging. I love Amazon!
