The feels relaxing rather than overstimulating and powerful like other movies. The music in the background also matches the story well. My kids grew up on this and used to watch it right before nap time or bedtime. They were toddlers and it kept their attention well. They are both in college and still love watching this movie.

One of my favorite movies
This is one of my favorite movies. It’s very calming to me to watch and I’d kinda my go to movie when I feel stressed. The feels relaxing rather than overstimulating and powerful like other movies. The music in the background also matches the story well. My kids grew up on this and used to watch it right before nap time or bedtime. They were toddlers and it kept their attention well. They are both in college and still love watching this movie.

You can’t go wrong watching this
Howls moving castle is a masterpiece. Plain and simple. Hayao Miyazaki’s works are all absolutely amazing but “spirited away” and this one are in a league of its own. The story can get confusing for children under 9, but it’s not really the story that keeps them enthralled anyways, it’s the music, the atmosphere, the animation, the characters - they are whimsical, funny and heartwarming and a joy to watch. For adults, the themes can get quite dark yet relatable and heartwarming. There’s something for everyone. There’s a reason you’re heard of this movie. Whether you’re new to the Japanese animation world or a long time watcher, you really can’t go wrong with this movie. If you have an afternoon off and came across this review, take it as your sign to watch. You won’t be disappointed.

First bought the DVD some years ago, then later purchased the Disney blu-ray, now I own this GKIDS blu-ray release and I can tell you it's the BEST version yet, because this is the high-definition transfer, together (!) with the original English-dubbed voices of Jean Simmons, Emily Mortimer, Christian Bale, and Billy Crystal. I have viewed this film many times in its original Japanese audio but the English dubbed voices is for lack of a better word, Outstanding! Miyazaki at his best story-telling, and subsequent kudos to Studio Ghibli for giving us these brilliant transfers. Howl's Moving Castle [Blu-ray + DVD] (Sous-titres français)
