Superior lens technology
Bought a pair of the non-polarised Serengeti Velino sunglasses - these have the same drivers lens that I have on my Serengeti Carini sunglasses that I use in my job as an airline pilot. These lenses are far superior to any of the other sunglasses that I have owned (think Ray Bans) At first I was sceptical about buying the amber coloured drivers lens, but once I got used to them, I found they provide exceptional clarity and I find they really bring out colour and contrast. The glass lenses way outlast polycarbonate and my 5 year old Carini's are still scratch free. Bought these as a spare pair at a fantastic price from Coalburn - response to email queries was almost immediate and delivery was prompt. The photo chromatic qualities are very useful for dealing with varying light conditions. The sunglasses are delivered with a very solid high quality case and cleaning cloth. I also notice that the Velino's have double spring loaded hinges - the Carinis only had a single hinge and I have had to have to replace them on occasion. I have been told that it is a good idea to rinse the hinges occasionally to prevent sweat from corroding the hinge. Very happy with these and the service from Coalburn.

I have always found Serengeti to have very good optics. I take care of my glasses and have worn the finish of my old set and they slip off my nose now (the lenses almost look new, but they are close to 8 years old). So I found another style that is close to my old ones. I just like the simple style of these and they fit my fathead so good it makes me feel like I have a normal head. I don't know what size my head is, but I max out most adjustable hats and they are still tight. But somehow these fit great. No distortion in the lenses and the polarizing takes time to get used to if you have never had it before.

Brings back memories
I had a pair of Serengeti drivers in an aviator-like composite frame over 25 years ago and they were heavily used for driving and motorcycling. They lasted beautifully with hard use until the frames began to crumble and then they were no more. I bought these hoping for the same longevity. The build quality, heft of the glasses, lenses, etc all appear up to decades old standards. Overall, very pleased so far with the choice. Oh and note that thę Serengeti site gives the fit as a medium sized male head, and that's pretty accurate.

Not What Was Expected
First off, these do not have glass lenses. The lenses, as well as the frames, are cheap plastic. The hardware is thin and cheap as well. I had an old pair of Serengetis with great glass lenses and solid frames that lasted for years before they broke. I live on a sailboat, wear sunglasses every day and need good ones. I don't expect these to last more than a couple weeks. I guess I will have t find another brand.

Nice glasses
I owned a pair of Serengeti sunglasses about 20 years ago, and they have kept the same high standards that I remember. Thank you seller for a great product.

Love my Serengeti sunglasses!
Love my Serengeti sunglasses! I recently broke a pair that was 10 years old so bought these because they were similar shape & style. They are equally as great as their predecessor! You won't find optics or shading anywhere that compares. Very comfortable to wear and great sun protection.

Serengeti Velino
I love these shades! I reckon I have a med/small head and these fit great. I've even had some compliments. I don't notice the transition...very subtle, but the glass lenses are on par with other serengeti sunglasses I've owned over the years...top notch quality! As with everything good, I was stunned to find out these had been discontinued. I would get a pair while I still could if I was one of you guys (or girls, as these could be considered unisex sunglasses in my opinion) looking for a great pair of driver/all around shades.
