Does not pass layer 2 signalling for 802.3at
Many PoE devices require Layer 2 to come up and negotiate PoE.This unita. Does not pass layer 2 signaling for 802.3atb. Does NOT correctly measure current and voltage because of the non boot due to L2PRO:Can detect if switch port is 802.3btUseful for distinguishing between 802.3at and 802.3bt ports without load

Good Tester For The Money.
I have used this device for a while now (2 years?) to test cables I terminated around the house. I am a hobbyist and not a professional installer. To me, this device is indispensable and has worked pretty well. It goes a big step beyond the cheaper testers that just test continuity, but of course, it is not a Fluke certification tester. As far as the accuracy goes: It does correctly identify if the cable works/doesn't work and at what speed. It also identifies which pairs work or are miswired. As for PoE: I find the readings to be good, but I haven't used it in "through mode". Realize that PoE is negotiated and the voltage you get depends on which endpoints are used. Also, some vendors (e.g. Ubiquity) use non-standard "24V" or "48V" PoE .So in short: good deal for the money and helps you figure out if you need to terminate a cable again or if it will work fine.

Works great, a little overpriced.
This meter does just what it claims to. It's easy to use, good clear display, long battery life, and small enough to keep handy in the shop or on the job. However, I'd say that for what it is, it is priced a little high - thus the removal of a star. Dropping the price a bit could make this a great value. As it is, it works well and is reliable, accurate, and easy to use. To their credit, there is a surprising lack of PoE meters out there outside of high-end network analyzers, so they have filled a little market void.

Works, but with issues
Works to measure voltage on PoE and PoE+. As others have mentioned, the port beacon mode is somewhat unreliable. Works with some of my switches and not others. The biggest issue is that I can not get it to display power usage (watts) of my devices. I have it "inline" (I've tried connecting up to the two jacks both ways). A Ubiquiti Access Point, Foscam PoE IP camera and Mitel VoIP phones all just display the voltage and never shows any current draw reading.

Great product
I usually buy high end equipment like Fluke products. I happen to be repairing a custom system that standard test equipment doesn't work well on. This tester shines in this situation. Unlike my Fluke which gets pissed off when you plug into an active line when testing cables this unit happily gives voltages and a reasonably accurate picture of signal type. I found it helpful to pre-check the line I wanted to certify to avoid that unnerving Fluke message that I needed to unplug the test cable NOW. The toner works very well. Attempts to use my standard tone set where iffy. This gives a clear tone or triggers the signal light on the switch. Very helpful when tracing a poorly documented system. Well worth the small price I paid.

works perfect for the most part
works perfect for the most part, but when tracing wires it fails to blink the beacon on ports on some of our managed switches, others it works fine, probably a software setting in our switches, but the port beacon was one of the main reasons we got this

Great potential but it is not standards compliant
It correctly identified PoE detection voltages on 1 out of 3 switches. The documentation says it will find PoE detection voltages in the range of 5V-15V. The problem is the 802.3af IEEE standard says 2V-10V. In pass-through mode it did identify PoE operating voltages on all 3 switches.

Must have for camera, phone, or wireless bridge work.
This thing paid for itself on the first job. We immediately detected a port in the Switch without PoE, switched to a live port, and got our customer’s camera up withou any extra expense to them. I dread thinking how hard it was working without it.
