Done with ball heads for good!
I purchased this along with the Sunwayfoto LB-68R leveling base (see my review of that item on its product page). My goal is to be able to quickly level the tripod legs with the leveling base, and then use this head for pan and tilt without ever needing to re-level. The head seems well built, and it came with thread adapters and allen keys. The arca base plate can be removed (with the allen keys) and turned 90 degrees if needed. The head moves smoothly, and the panning has a good dampened feel. The locks work great without having to use extreme force. The pan and tilt indexing is large and easy to read. The only minor complaint I have is that the index for the tilt "0" position on the top plate, is a small black indentation and is very hard to see... I didn't even see it initially. I had some white appliance paint, and used the tip of a staple to fill the indentation with paint (see my second photo). I tested this out with my largest lens (Nikon 200-500 f/5,6) and found the head very stable and easy to lock. I look forward to using this in the field, and will report back if there are any issues!

Works great for my purpose
I recently purchased a ground pod to make low angle wildlife shots easier. Laying on my stomach to get low has started to cause neck pain as I get older.I originally combined the ground pod with a ball head and tried using live view on the camera screen to shoot. The ball head was too hard to control. That’s where this head came to the rescue. I have much more control and have been getting great shots. It pans and tilts very smoothly. I’m using a Nikon Z8 and 180-600 lens with this set up.I can’t attest to durability as I have only been using it a short time.

Sturdy and Smooth
Absolutely happy with this head. I've used heads from the likes of Benro, Gitzo and Really Right Stuff, but when I decided I wanted a pan/tilt head, I just wasn't ready to drop the almost $500 on an Acratech and decided to give this a try.Overall, incredibly sturdy and the movement on this is buttery smooth, allowing for easy composing. The ability to rotate the top plate for a lens foot or a standard plate is also a plus (just be sure to carry that slightly smaller than average hex key).Great buy!

Quality piece of gear
I don't typically write a review prior to using, however I do have two comments I hope the MFG takes note of. 1) the screws for the mounting plate where just ridiculously tight, thought for sure I was going to strip the head of the screw attempting to reposition it. After several tries it finally broke lose.2) Given that people buy this for the ability to adjust the vertical orientation with the help of the degree markings, it makes good sense to identify the indicator on the mount (the one that doesn't move) with a bit of white paint, just like on the degree markings. It is very difficult to see unless your looking at it at an angle which is just counter productive and so simple to fix. I will be using this head mostly at night so I intend to modify it to be much more visible.Having said that I am not returning this, it does seem well built and is almost exactly what I was looking for in a Panorama head.

Very good tilting tripod head
The Sunwayfoto tilting tripod head works as described. While it isn't a gimbal you can adjust the tension knobs to keep some friction on the tilt action to allow smooth controlled movement. However, do not let go of your camera because unlike a gimbal , there is no balance point. If the tension is set high enough, at least there won't be a sudden tilt, up or down, of the camera - lens combo. If the tilting action is what you are after in a tripod/monopod head, then I recommend the Sunwayfoto DT-03S .Delivery was fast . Packaging was good. Seller is recommended.

Sunwayfoto Dt-03 Review
It is an excellent Pano/2 way tripod head. It works very well and is well made. One complaint I have is the lack of a bubble level on the base of the head. Makes it difficult to level. I came up with a fix of my own (see photo).
