Awesome purchase!
So after hours of intense research and many hard decisions I had settled on buying this laptop, I wanted something that could handle all of the adobe creative cloud apps as well as several high performance videogames. I also wanted something that would support VR as I might purchase one in the future. This laptop completely satisfies all my needs and wants. As far as reliability goes, I haven’t ran into any problems. The batterie lasts about 4 hours on a full charge while watching Netflix but anything that requires more processing will drain the battery faster. The keyboard is fantastic, I am very impressed. The quality is amazing and the keys feel fantastic. They are full RGB backlit and fully customizable. The screen itself is a little flimsy but nothing that I have noticed to get in the way of anything. Just don’t push to hard I guess! Anyway... it’s a very amazing laptop and I have no complaints to list.

Minimal bloat ware and easy to clean up
As close to instant on as you can get. Plays far cry 4 and Far cry Primal on ultra settings at 100 plus fps. Came fully updated out of the box with latest bios and drivers. , everything worked as planned no lock ups flakeyness or crashing.Minimal bloat ware and easy to clean up. Nice bright display but slight tearing on far cry 4. But way better than a TpannelOculus rift boots right up Vr ready andthe gtx 1080 just kicks a**,Not many things to demote the 1 star over.Finger print magnet top.4 zone rgb? Realy Asus wtf why not individual keys?Rog gaming center software is actualy a beta version allowing extreem settings. And it also wont do OSD like the MSI software and for this simple fact of having to download and run another mfgs software is reason enough for the ding of 1 star. The asus android app is garbage also.Heat is an issue even with a laptop cooler, but the fans have alot of head room and should keep things cool as long as the whinning dosent bother you.A repaste with arctic ceramic 2 and shinitsu 754 and the dual 80mm vent mod. Will keep things cool and quiet.Over all well worth the $$$ for a oc 2.8 ghz intell and a 1080 gtx i say go for it.I also added a extra stick of ram and a ssd 2.5" and once you figure out how to get the clam shell open your good to go. The battery conection to the mb is crap at best, avoid haveing a bad day leave it alone.

Computer good ,Seller bad, SquareTrade worse!
I would not buy from this seller. When I received the laptop within 10 days we were having fan and false overheating issues. Within 20 days we were already getting error messages that shut down the computer. I did the dance between Amazon, SquareTrade and Asus. Troubleshooting seemed to work temporarily. Now we're having problems with the fan and it's still having error messages that shut the computer down. Of course the problems come back after the 30 days ..I didn't even talk about the weird orbs on the monitor when its dark (not powered off). Now I have to deal with all the BS that is SquareTrade and their fine print. Amazon has backed out because they were not the seller. SquareTrade wants to fix the laptop and send it back to me. $2,100 for a laptop that has to be fixed within 60 days?Im good on that. How about you sell new laptops that dont fail in 60 days, ey?!

After using it for a week, my final thoughts. The good: Impressive specs and performance.Crystal clear display (when you can see it).The annoying:Even a minor amount of glare makes it difficult to see when playing a game, even when the brightness is 100% and contrast is tweaked. The bloatware. Even after refusing the McAfee license agreement, it interfered and prevented the uninstalling of the other bloatware and itself. Even running the standalone McAfee removal tool just froze for hours. I hope that felon is paying Asus enough to force their customers down into his slop. I had to do a clean Windows install and locate and reinstall the important ASUS drivers and firmware. The tacky, unhelpful splash screen. The bios really should allow a verbose POST to let you know what's going on.The bad: For some reason, It won't boot when an SD card is inserted. Because the splash screen gave no information, there's no way to know what's it's doing/trying to do.The nonstandard keyboard. There's plenty of unused space elsewhere on the front plate where they could have stuck the power key and worthless ROG "app" key, and left the Numlock and End keys where they belong. Also, they've gone out of their way to prevent remaping the ROG key to something useful with keytweak or autohotkey.Okay, after bios update, it boots with the card inserted. Still no option to turn off the tacky splash screen and give verbose startup info.
