HohnerMarine Band Harmonica, Key of Eb

...almost everyone...The harmonica manufacturer of choice for so many iconic harmonica. If it's not a Hoehner Marine Band, you better make sure it's a harmonica. Don't get the ones with the plastic reeds.

This Hohner 1896 harmonica is tuned as close to perfectly as can be, and right out of the box. It sounds great, with a big fat sound that is only achievable when a harp is really in tune. I'm buying another one in a different key. I never had a 1896 before. I've had a lot of different Hohners before including Crossovers, Marine Bands, Special 20's, and Golden Melody. Price is good too. I hope it lasts.

I now have eight Hohner Marine Band harmonicas in a variety of keys. It is easier for me to select the appropriate key to accompany a singer or guitar player than to try to cross-harp at this point in my ability progression. I find the Hohner Marine Band harmonica to be a very good quality harmonica for the price. The tone and pitch seem to remain consistent even after years of use. I will continue to play the Hohner Marine Band since I am not a professional and don't need any thing more than what the Marine Band provides.

I love the Marine Bands. They work well for me and I live by the water, and even though my harmonicas get too much moisture, they still hold their tune. This works as intended, is tuned perfectly and I gigged with it the day I got it. Good product!

The Marine Band harmonicas are absolutely phenomenal instruments. The sound is classic blues, and they bend easy and nicely. They are a bit pricier than Hohner's more beginner oriented blues harps, but serious players will be very happy with these.
