Goya Guava Paste/Pasta De Guayaba 16 Oz 1 Lb, 454 G Bars 2 Pack by Goya

Great taste!

Makes 3 per sleeve of the pastry dough. Get some of the Goya guava paste, some puff pastry frozen dough & a block of cream cheese & leave the cream cheese out to soften. Let the dough defrost at room temp on parchment paper for 1 hr. Unfold and cut into 6 pieces on parchment paper with flour so the dough doesn't stick. Do the same thing with the cream cheese so clean up is easier. Put cream cheese & slice of guava and put the empty slice on top, pinch edges and cut 2 or 3 vents on the top of the pastry. Get 2 bake pans and put on top of each other then a layer of parchment paper. Bake 400 for like 20-25 min or until golden brown. Before that comes out the oven, in a small saucepan put 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 water on low heat like 3 on the stove to make simple syrup aka the glaze. When pastries come out the oven, brush on the glaze. Let sit and cool for 15 minutes. Enjoy!!!

the taste is not of quince and the color reminds me of sweet potato jam. It's probably a mixture. Not bad but not exactly quince.
