THIS is the wide-span gate that you want to purchase!
This gate was a necessary but highly risky purchase proposition.I have a very large carpeted living room that my two dogs like to hang out in. The problem is, though my pug is mostly toilet-trained, he gets lazy and often urinates on the carpet. This has been driving me absolutely crazy and I became absolutely desperate to find a means of keeping the dogs out of that area. Two big problems: First, the two entrances to the room are pretty wide which leads to the second issue...I had to find a gate that was not only wide enough to cover the entrance span at both ends but would also stand on its own without any support. The last thing I wanted to do was to start drilling support brackets into the wall.I spent days pouring over Amazon reviews for gates that had an 80" coverage span. Every single one of those reviews for the most recommended gates contained complaints about the gates not being sturdy enough. Owners complained about the gates being easily tipped over by their pets.I had come to the conclusion that there was no gate that would be durable enough to stand on its own. It just didn't make sense to me that it could be accomplished. This gate from PETSITE wasn't anywhere near the top of the Amazon recommended products list. However, at the time of purchase consideration, it had 5 very positive reviews. I took a risk and dropped nearly $200 on two gates (to cover both entrances to the room) knowing darn well that might be money I would lose. The two gates arrived in separate boxes. The gates inside were very well packed with enough styrofoam that there is no chance they can be damaged in normal transport conditions. The first elation for me came when I took the gate out of the box and it was already put together. All I had to do was remove the styrofoam and then pull it apart. This gate was up and ready within a minute of unpacking......well that is not completely true. There are spring and handle pieces that have to be installed into the gate door but that takes under a minute to put together. The included instructions give you an excellent illustration of the installation. Speaking of instructions, there are none for gate assembly since there is no assembly to be done. Now for the most amazing aspect of this gate. I have included photos for you to look at. The photos should show you how handsome the gate looks. The build quality is excellent and as long as your pet is not in a chewing stage, this should hold up well for a long period of time. Secondly, the gate absolutely does stand up on its own and is not flimsy. Now, mind you, in order to get more free-standing durability, you will have to fold the gate at several key points (as the photos illustrate). If you simply expand the gate out straight, it will become very flimsy. From the moment I put up these gates the dogs (both small-medium size) immediately recognized it as a barrier and did not even attempt to push through it.Walking through the gate should be done very carefully. The gate will wiggle a little bit as you open it up and walk through it, but as long as you do it gently, there will be no issue. The gate closure is solid as you have to give a bit of force to the top latch to open and close it. Your pets will not be able to force it open.I am extremely impressed with this gate. I really, really thought it would be a total bust. I did not expect it to stand so well on its own. I expected the dogs would knock it down. All those fears were for naught. This turned out to be one of the best blind purchases I have made in recent memory. It has completely solved the issue of keeping my pets out of an area that they were destroying. The gate doesn't look cheap and looks very, very handsome in the room.Do not hesitate to purchase this. Just be certain that you measure the opening you are covering and that the length of the gate (80") exceeds the length of that opening as you are going to have to fold it for maximum durability.

Good product, great customer service.
The product is sturdy enough for our two pomeranians, and frankly any dog that is not going to actively try to topple it. It came it two packages and one of them contained a broken panel. Petjoy was fantastic when it came to replacing the broken panel.

Not packaged well for shipping
The gate arrived with the door hinge bolt stripped. I'm not going to blame the shipper—I think this was completely foreseeable: The door should not be shipped with the hinges bolt in place. The box was probably dropped on its top and it striped the threads on the bolt. Since you have to install the gate latch anyway, they should make you install the door hinge bolt too.I do like that they included extra hinges—maybe include an extra hinge bolt too?NOTE: For everyone who says the latch is too flimsy, you might have installed the bolt with the long end in. If you do that, then latch is flimsy. Install it with the long side pointing out and the latch is fine.

I find it useful
Fairly sturdy - I think the design and manufacturing that went into this sought to balance weight versus sturdiness. This fencing is freestanding if configured properly. As a straight line fence it would fall right over - have to put in a few accordion pleats, thus the fence length has to be shorter by doing so.There is no way to link 2 such fences together. That would have been helpful. The hinges are nice, and are bidirectional. The gate can open either in or out.A concern about the gate latch - it is a bit shallow, so there might be an issue of the gate popping open if a toddler gives the fence and gate a good “shake down”. (Please see note about the bolt below). I am lucky so far as my dogs have accepted the fencing which is keeping them out of the kitchen without a physical challenge to the fencing or gate. A determined medium sized dog could do some damage to the gate and fencing. A toddler who is pulling up and cruising along furniture would certainly disrupt this fencing easily.Right out of the box the whole fencing plus gate unit came properly folded up. Merely had to take it out of the box, put it in place, configure it to my liking and install the small sliding bolt on the gate.** PLEASE NOTE: The sliding bolt has a hole into which a knob is placed. VERY important to notice that the hole is not exactly in the middle of the bolt shaft, therefore the longer part of the bolt shaft must be the part that protrudes and latches into the gate frame. **No tools required for assembly. All in all I like this product and have already ordered a second one.

If the gate is pushed on hard enough it will open
Has worked well ,helping train our speedy dog from running out the door. He has learned how to push on the gate to open it. As a training aid has worked as needed

Okay but not the best
We love the color! We're disappointed in the sturdiness of the product. It simply isn't as well made as we had hoped. We've attached it to a wall on both ends but the fence/gate still falls forward when touched. The pull on the gate is small and just isn't very well engineered. We ordered the longest width...it came in several pieces and you'll need tools prior to use. Would be so much better with supports along the bottom of the design to aid in a more structured fence/gate. Fine for use with animals but definitely would not recommend if considering the use with children.

Perfect fit
We got this to keep the dogs in one area at night but sill not have them totally crated. It is the perfect fit. Tall enough that the dogs don't try to jump it and the gate/lock is really simple. Parents beware though: my 3 yr old figured out the latch in just 2 days. So he will let the dogs out unexpectedly.
