Love this double sided tape!
It’s worked perfect on the items I wanted to secure. I have a couple rugs one at my front door and a runner down the front hallway that my crazy one year old kitties love to crumble up! My I bought the tape about a month ago and the rugs are still in place. I have a 6’ tall light weight Christmas tree in my living room that my kitties are always trying to climb, so I taped the stand to floor trying to secure it since the beginning of December till now and it is still standing!

User recommends, but with some potentially valuable advice
This tape is way better than the other carpet "tape" I've used before which was thicker and therefore didn't keep the rugs as close to my floor as I'd like, and this other "tape" wasn't able to stick to my new rugs because of the rubber textured bottoms (the other tape doesn't have a solid adhesion surface -- meaning it is a mesh-like tape with large holes between the sticky strings that are weaved together to make it into a carpet tape). The XFasten Double Sided Carpet Tape is much more desirable and effective, and it does a fabulous job of keeping my rugs in place. I've had absolutely no movement or slippage of the rugs. The tape has been reliably secure for over a month and a half now. I'm glad I read the questions and reviews before trying to use the product, though, because just as most people have found, it is pretty difficult to separate the backing from the tape. To make it easier, I chose to get a corner started of each piece (using a box-cutter/utility knife) and folded it back underneath itself (please see my submitted pictures) BEFORE putting the tape on the rug. Then when it was time to stick the rug with the tape to my floor, it was super easy and simple to peel off the tape's backing. The only other thing I should note about my experience, is that I have yet to attempt to remove the rugs and the tape from the floor. Based on my previous experience with the above-mentioned first carpet tape I've purchased before this product, however, there definitely was residue and some damage to the hardwood floors in my last apartment when I moved out. This makes me feel pretty certain (especially because this tape is so much stronger/stickier) that there will undoubtedly be at least residue (but I'm not terribly worried because I plan on having Goo-Gone on hand). In conclusion, I recommend this carpet tape as long as you keep two things in mind, be proactive about being successful at taking the backing off, and I highly suggest you might want to consider using a small piece with the floor you'll be using it on -- in a small, inconspicuous spot -- to test for adverse reactions regarding removal of the product.

Stability and Strength
The item arrived in a timely manner. I am in the process of completing constructing a delicate arrangement for a 50" TV to rest on its original TV's feet upon a platform of a 43" shelf that I am designing. I'm not yet finish. I am placing my platform on a lazy-susan to swing about 40 degrees in both directions. To keep the cable box, the TV, a soundbar, the power cord and everything from becoming tangled, they all have to rest on the platform that I am constructing. And each time that I swing the laze -susan, I risk the chance of the TV toppling over, or everything on the platform to shift position and potentially become unstable without support at the extreme rotation of the lazy-susan. So, I purchased the doubled-sided carpet tape to place under the TV feet. Since the carpet tape is advertised to not leave residue; and is easily removed, I was concerned if it was strong enough to serve my need. I researched it and found that it holds 60 lb. PSI. I am satisfied; and expect that it will serve my purpose when I complete fine adjustments to my project.

Excellent tape but a bit hard to peel. Still recommend it though, for the price.
Good price, but good heavens is this tape difficult to peel. I was only taping the corners of one side of my carpet so I would still be able to roll up one side to vacuum underneath and because I have a carpet pad underneath the carpet, I had a bit of trouble at first. Because the tape is so sticky and the non sticky layer is so hard to peel away from the sticky layer, I ended up taping the carpet pad first and then taping the carpet corners over that. When I initially tried to tape both layers at one time, I was having all kinds of trouble. Once I figured out how to just use the scissors to start the peeling process as I was cutting off each section, I managed to get it done without too much issue. All in all this is excellent tape, it did not damage my wood flooring when I had to pull it up when I messed up my first attempt, and the end results look great. My carpets and carpet pads are nicely secured with no curling edges.

Not for carpet on carpet
Works better when applying on hardwood or tile floors, not good when applying throw rugs to carpet.

this is the most amazing carpet tape I've ever tried!
I have tried several kinds of different carpet tapes, plus probably a dozen more carpet grippers of various thicknesses and also rubber gripper types of things , none of them worked completely. They kept the rugs from moving not quite as often, but not one of these items I tried have kept the rug from moving at all. THIS TAPE HAS KEPT MY RUG FROM MOVING AT ALL! IT'S BEEN DOWN ABOUT A MONTH NOW AND HAS NOT MOVED AN INCH, PREVIOUSLY I WILL HAVE HAD TO STRAIGHTEN MY RUG 50 TIMES IN THE MONTH. I was so tired of dealing with moving rugs and rug grippers and rubber grippers rolling up underneath the rug, that this tape is worth it's weight in gold to me. THANK YOU TO THE MAKERS OF THIS TAPE! UPDATE: THE FIRST TIME I BOUGHT THIS TAPE IT WAS AMAZING AS I STATED, JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER ROLL AND IT'S HORRIBLE. WELL AS CARPET TAPE GOES IT'S TYPICAL I WILL NOT HOLD YOUR RUGS IN PLACE. THEY EITHER CHANGED THE FORMULA OF THE TAPE OR I GOT A BAD ROLL, BUT I AM NOT AT ALL HAPPY WITH IT. IT GOES FROM A 5 STARS TO A 1 STAR FOR ME.

does the job, good value
does the job, good value. fairly easy to use. just cut off the amount you will need, apply it to the carpet. then ply off the paper backing. The plying off can be a bit tricky. I used a razor blade to get between the tape and the backing, and once you get a small amount of separation, you can just grab the tape and pull it off. If you have long fingernails, that would work fine too.

I did a ton of research and looked at a lot of reviews for double sided carpet tape for use on rugs over carpet and this one came out on top. Works pretty well, used about 2 rolls to hold down a big 10x7 rug on carpet and it pretty much stays put. A couple wrinkles from foot traffic but I dont think there’s any getting away with that with such a large rug.

I used the carpet tape to fix a mat on top of the carpet one week ago. So far it's stayed in place. The next test will be when the grandkids come over. It was a bit difficult to cut the tape because it was quite sticky. Have not tried to remove it so am unable to give it an accurate score.

Love this tape. Wish I’d known about it years ago. Holds my floor rugs in place very well.
