Yum.
I’ve been using this protein for years. I’ve tried others in between including plant based, the flavor to me just doesn’t compare. It works for me. I only like the vanilla original and hopefully Lean1 will stick to the same recipe and keep the cost reasonable. I’m sticking with it.

One of the best - IMO
I've read many of the reviews of this product here at Amazon...and I thought I toss in my two cents by addressing some of the topics others have mentioned - especially in the negative reviews. I've been on Lean 1 for two months and do 3 shakes a day.One of the biggest things people mention is the product's taste...and I have to seriously wonder if they've ever tried protien shakes before. Most are tough to swallow. Prior to Lean 1, the best one I've tried was EAS (liquid) - which was close to chocolate milk. Lean 1 reminds me of chocolate brownie mix (with a slight hint of banana) in smell, taste and consistency. I found it quite good. Other such drinks have unpleasant after tastes (Slim Fast is like chalk)...some are like watered down chocolate milk (Tiger Milk & Muscle Milk come to mind) while others left my tongue numb from the high aspartame content (Adkins). I found Lean 1 to have no real after taste other than chocolate. All of protien drinks taste better if you fancy them up a bit. I mix mine with 1 cup of almond milk and 1 cup water. A banana also helps. But even with just water, I thought it was good. And for me, serving it chilled or cold also greatly helps. So on taste I have to give Lean 1 5 stars. The other item people mention is appetite suppressant. Here I found Lean 1 to be only 4 stars (which is why I didn't give it 5 stars overall). I didn't notice any real suppressant feature - however, again adding a banana seems to help. Maybe they should up the hoodia (???)I read one review where the reviewer took issue with the use of sucralose. There is a small amount in Lean 1...it is the "best" of the artificial sweetners and I think the reviewer's take and "side-affects" was over exaggerated. The main sweetener is cellulose which the body processes better. Finally, as far as price...Lean 1 is a bit more, but I have found it online anywhere from $28-34 dollars (for 2 lbs) - which keeps it competitive. Strangely, Nutrition 53 (Lean 1's maker) charges the most - nearly $40. Amazon tends to have it the cheapest, but not always. Shop around. Got it somewhere else today for $30 with FREE shipping. I get roughly 15+ shakes per 2 lbs tub.If you're on the fence about trying Lean 1 - I hope this helps.

3.5 Stars. Great taste and consistency, but (in my eyes) 1 big negative.
These are the first meal replacement shakes I have ever tried. My comparison will be against traditional weight training protein shakes of which I have tried many different brands and flavors.Pros- Surprisingly rich chocolate flavor. Almost tastes like chocolate cake batter. ***** 5 Stars. *****- The consistency and texture are good. With 8 oz of water per 2 level scoops, it's like cake batter that has been slightly thinned out with milk. It will coat your mouth and throat like a milkshake would (more about this in Cons). I like that. Mixes nicely with very few lumps of unmixed powder. The wire ball in my shaker isn't needed. ***** 5 Stars *****- Feels like an adequate meal in my stomach. Even at less than 250 calories, the shake keeps my hunger in check for 3 or 4 hours with normal, daily activities. ***** 5 Stars *****Cons- The shake has an odd smell, as do most of the protein shakes I've tried. I can not describe it except to say that it is a sort of funky smell. But you can't smell it after you start drinking the shake. Although it's a little more funky than most, it's no big deal. ***** MINUS 0 Stars *****- The aftertaste is a little weird. 15 minutes after drinking the shake, I feel like I HAVE TO brush my teeth. Extra Polar Ice gum, the only gum I chew, masks the aftertaste perfectly well until I can get to my toothbrush. ***** MINUS 0.5 Star *****- The scoop was at the bottom of the container. I repeat for Nutrition 56... THE SCOOP WAS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CONTAINER! Like they put the scoop in the empty bucket, THEN dumped in the powder afterwards. And it was the same as with their vanilla flavor as well. That is completely unacceptable for me. I had to stick my arm in the bucket to pull the scoop off of the bottom because I couldn't get it out with a long spoon or a chop stick. ***** MINUS 1 Full Star *****I like the shake. It tastes good and at just 230 calories, it is doing a great job of helping curb my appetite. The scoop flaw makes me want to look for a different product. If you wouldn't mind sticking your arm into your shake powder, then this product might be a solid 4.5 stars for you. I don't like that.I will update my review in about 2 weeks when I order this same product again. If the scoop at the bottom is an anomaly and I find it near the top of my next bucket, then I will gladly change my rating to 4.5 stars.

Not fat burning
I've been drinking this pretty regular and only eating meat and veggies. Not really losing any weight in difference from the other drink I was using. I do feel better with this than the pre-made brands. I like the ingredients since I have a hard time with anemia. It has improved. And better regularity. Tastes better than most.
