Nice product
Great product, works fine, good sound and a large easy to read display. Setup was so simple, plug it in and it does the whole thing automatically! Amazed. The only issue is setting alarms which is a bit fiddley and could be much easier, but once you know it's ok, just follow the instructions - yes you get good instructions! Overall would highly recommend.

Really good radio alarm
This radio alarm looks very nice . Although it comes with basic instructions only it is fairly simple to use. You can download more detailed instructions from the Robert’s site if you need them . The sound is good quite adequate for the bedroom. There are only 2 alarms , but I find that enough. There are about 20 presets and lots of handy features such as a nap timer and a sleep program.

Have now bought two.
Great bedside clock radio, lovely clear large display for when you wake during the night and are curious what the time is through sleepy eyes. Sound quality is more than adequate for a bedside radio and the sleep function is super easy to use as is the channel select. On the con side... wish there was more than only 3 stored channel options.

Just the ticket.
Received this promptly and it was a cinch to set up. Works well and contrary to some other reviewers, I found the sound to be really very good, with some base tones and ample treble. The unit is very attractive and sits proudly beside my bed, ready hopefully for many years use. I know this is a bit more expensive than some other units but you really do get what you pay for here!Thoroughly recommend, if you’re not pinching the pennies! 😂

Nice little clock radio for the bedroom
First thing I would say is to download the manual from the Roberts website, the downloaded version is more detailed than the one included in the box. I had read reviews on here and other websites that were a bit mixed, but Roberts is normally reliable if a bit pricey. So far, the Ortus 3 has not disappointed. From out of the box to fully set up took around 15 minutes - using the downloaded manual. Perfect for a bedroom clock and the screen is dimmable both when on and when in stand by. Alarm was easy to set up and the DAB+ stations automatically scanned OK. Reception is not perfect where I live for DAB+ but the stations I want to listen to are absolutely fine. Don't expect top notch sounds but this only for the bedroom so it matters not to me. So far, very pleased with my purchase and recommend it to anyone that needs a clock radio for the bedroom and wants to pick up DAB+ stations. I have not tried FM, as I do not listen to FM any more.

Potentially a winning design
This Clock Radio is well built and attractive in appearance, it has a good range of features and was sensitive enough pick up good DAB and FM signals even in a poor area for both, despite having only a short, wire aerial. However, the sound quality is a weak point: it seriously lacks depth in the bass. The paradox is that electronically it ought to be excellent: the stereo sound delivered through the headphones socket is very good indeed, contrasting sharply with bass-deficient, mono, speaker sound. Perhaps insufficient attention has been given to the loud speaker mounting, or perhaps the mid to high frequencies have been accented to compensate for the backwards facing speaker, radiating away from the listener. The paradox continues with the bluetooth function for, like many others, the radio receives bluetooth signals from mobile phones so that it can be used as a mono, external speaker. Arguably, it would have better to use the bluetooth facility to transmit the excellent stereo from the radio to wireless headphones. If these design issues could be addressed this clock radio could be a winner: it deserves to be.

Great bedside radio alarm with good sound
I am pleased with this clock radio. Sound quality is important to me, so having read another review that was less than complimentary, I was concerned, but it turns out this was unfounded. The sound is good. There are many useful features too, including 3 dedicated preset buttons that can be assigned to 3 FM stations as well as 3 DAB stations. I would have expected the large rotary button to control volume, but it is for scrolling (volume is controlled using dedicated buttons). The display can be completely off, even when the radio is on, and being able to press any button for a brief display of the time is handy. Control of screen brightness is also good, and the gentle increase in volume of the radio alarm is a polite way to wake up. The only minus is that control of some functions is not as intuitive as it could be, but this is a minor gripe. I recommend this radio.

Need to Have DAB and FM reception
The clock was easy to set up as I am in Australia I did need a power adaptor as It has an English plug and they don't supply one with the clock.Once plugged in it set time and date fairly strait away ,setting up DAB stations was a breeze, and alarms are a switch away.Love how the screen turns off when you push any button to check the time at night.do recommend this clock
