TYRWrinkle Free Junior Silicone Cap

A very nice cap, as advertised.

I rely on amazon reviews, so I thought I would add my own as currently there is only one review of this product. I bought this for my petite 5 year old daughter for her first year on summer swim team. She has long hair down to her waist which we pull into a loose bun before we put the cap on. I wanted the cap to keep her hair in check but also to help avoid swimmers ear. We used this cap throughout the swim team season every day. It did not pull her hair when we pulled it on or off, fit well enough (would be fine for a older child as there was still plenty of stretch in it) and is still in good shape 10 weeks later after daily wear in the chlorine. I would buy it again.Update Aug 2012: We used this cap for a second season of swim team and it did the job yet again. Next year I will purchase a new one for her as it is just loosing its "stick", but I am impressed that it made it through two summer seasons of daily swimming, and no special care. I never rinsed it with tap water, or powdered it or anything. Put it on, pulled it off and threw it in her swim bag each day.

We have girls with long hair and even making them keep it in a braid, we still had hair clogging our pool filter. I got these to reduce the clogging (and also keep their hair from getting damaged from the chlorine & other pool chemicals. They work great - keep the hair dry... when they stay on. I don't know if it's my inexperience with using a swim cap or if they aren't intended to be used over long hair (I put it in a bun which I flattened down as much as possible) but they would start to "ride up" and eventually come off when the girls were swimming. I bought a different one for myself (doesn't keep my hair dry, but again, it was more to keep my hair from clogging the filter. I'm going to get more of the other kind next year -- mine stayed on and was easier to put on and more comfortable than these one - I tried one of these once and didn't like the way it felt). If you're using this to save your pool filter as opposed to keeping your hair dry, the more comfortable alternative that we're going to use for everyone next summer is the TYR Lycra swim cap.

I bought 2 of these caps for my kids (ages 10 & 8). They both have naturally bleach blonde hair & pool water turns it green everytime. We have tried all the creams and shampoos out there and was finally at my wits end when I bought these caps. I was disapointed that even after the ten mins. it took to get the cap on and adjusted right that it still let water in...& my kids still ended up looking like punk rockers with green streaks in their hair. On the other hand, it did keep the water out of thier ears & for the first time they didn't complain about swimmer's ear.

Easy to put on my child's head: We bought it so we didn't have to put elastic bands in my child's hair that pull the hair when getting them out of wet hair. The cap does not keep the hair from getting wet, it just isn't as wet and we don't have to tie her hair up with anything else. It is easy to get off and on.

Fits my 10 year old daughter. She's on the swim team and loves that the silicone slips right on without pulling her long hair. This size is probably good for 10 and under. It might be too small for any child with a larger head or anyone older. She'll wear it until it breaks (they all eventually do) and then we'll size up to the regular.

Silicone swim caps are really tough for my daughter to get on without help. This cap is the only cap she can manage on her own. It fits well, maybe a little big for her but once the goggles go on over it the cap stays in place. Keeps most water out, too. We've only had it for about 5 weeks, so can't speak to longevity, but it is holding up to 3x/week use so far.

This cap is very small. I bought it for my 8 year old who has hair to her shoulders. It doesn’t stay on b/c it’s too small and within 10 minutes in the pool it rides up and off. I’ve used it for my 3 year old ( who has almost no hair) and it’s a little better but still smaller than the ones we prefer.

Material is of good quality, Size is suitable for junior champs.

Product is good but tear apart within 2 months after buying. Not durable for regular swimming ...better for occasional.swimming
