Great Book
I recently purchased this book and have enjoyed it. I ordered it just thinking it was a recipe book, but then realized it was a full on meal planner/recipe book/shopping list. The first week i got it i went to the grocery i dropped quite a bit of cash on groceries. This was mainly because i was buying ingrediants that i don't normally purchase (walnut extract, buttermilk, sourdough bread, etc). But i wanted to give it a full try. I think If i had reviewed the recipes more closely, instead of just relying on the grocery list, I could have saved money by doing some substitutions, or by purchasing smaller quantities. That being said, i really enjoyed the layout of the book and the recipes themselves. It was great that the recipes were made in the right portions - enough for me, with enough leftovers for me.. I found that 'week 1' lasts more than just 1 week for me. I've enjoyed the recipes and cooking them. Now that i'm back to work, it's a bit challenging to cook that much, but i'm going to continue to try - because these are yummy and healthy. The breakfast muffins/scones have been great. I cook them on Sunday, and i have breakfast ready for the week.

Wow, 6 weeks of eating like a king AND losing weight!
I got this book because my wife was on Coumadin and we were getting really bored with dinners. She'd just lost a bunch of weight and wanted to keep it off, and I needed to drop that last 10 pounds myself. I'm down about 5 of the ten, and my wife is keeping her weight off, AND every night I exclaim, "We're eating like kings!" We're just in the middle of week 5, and when we hit 6 I'm happy to say I don't mind starting over. Sure, I was raised in Wyoming on a cattle ranch, so my palate is not sophisticated (I like to burn the hell out of a piece of meat on the barbecue), so people of more refined taste might justifiably discount my opinion. But this book was sure worth it to me!

Evaluation
I bought the book for my sister and her husband. Before they could put it to good use the doctor changed his medicine so I ordered another book for them with reduced salt in the recipes. I am sure that the book would have been helpful if things had not changed.I was grateful that you were able to help me with the variety of books that you carry

Some Good Info
I agree with another reviewer that the biggest value I get from the book is the list of foods and their Vitamin K values. Answers to some questions and other information of value to Coumadin users is good. But, it's basically a diet and recipe book, and I won't make most of the meals. I'm not much of a baker, and I probably won't make curry, Thai, or things like eggplant at home. If I ever decide to get more adventurous in home cooking, I'll certainly pick up this book again.

Armed With Knowledge
I recently was changed to a different blood thinner that restricts the amount of green leafy vegetables and some other foods. As my husband and I discovered, that eliminated half the food we eat the most, except for a few in very small amounts. This book provides a great way to keep up with what is allowed and has recipes./

Yes some of the recipes take a little more time to make but I'm cooking for two and I find that it takes just about as much time
I use this book to make a low Vitamin K grocery list for my father who is on "Warfarin" otherwise known as "Coumadin". Yes some of the recipes take a little more time to make but I'm cooking for two and I find that it takes just about as much time as it does to cook a good pot of spaghetti. I was surprised at the number of fruits and vegetables that were no-no's. I would recommend this to anyone who is a first time Coumadin patient!

The book has excellent knowledge to share
The book has excellent knowledge to share. The recipes were limited and more gourmet; like fish / lamb, not enough of everyday meats like beef, chicken or pork. They can be substituted with the wonderful vegetable recipes that were given.

I've tried 2 recipes so far and they are very good. The book gives a lot of great information on eating healthy while on Coumadin, but I found that many of the recipes include dairy and unfortunately I'm allergic to milk. I think you could learn everything in the book by online searches, but it is nice to have all the information in one place.

A book from a foreign country.
I have to take Warfarin on a life time basis. I must admit I thought I was buying a book on how to eat well and keep my INR below acceptable level's. This book is written by a American with American's in mind. At the start is a table of how heavy you are supposed to be with regard's to your height...the figure's are in pounds...no 'stone''s and 14 pounds to one stone' in sight!! Then you get a weekly plan with strange thing's to eat for breakfast for instance...Pumkin Nut Muffin...need I go on? Then you get recipes with a American slant and lastly a question and answer thingy from some on line site, mostly American's again. Not a good buy for a English person...

Gives a good insight into Vitamin K levels in everyday foods but ...
Gives a good insight into Vitamin K levels in everyday foods but I would have preferred more information about the vitamin and the affects on INR in more detail. In many ways a cookbook with a few facts about the role of vitamin K, I would have preferred it the other way round. But, as there a limited resources out there I was actually very happy with the book.

Diet for warfain users.
Very american and hard to follow, have given up trying to use it. Trying to get really practical advice on what to eat when on warfarin is very difficult and this book did not help.
