3D Printer Dialed In

I used this with a raspberry pi to tune my 3D printer with Klipper. The top is untuned and the bottom is tuned. The device is perfectly sensitive and was very easy to hook up. I was happy with the available range of 3 to 5v.

Power Consumption Review

The unit works to the extent one can expect!Googling "ADXL345 Z Axis" and you will find many unresolved blogs on Z axis either stuck at 2g/4g setting or large offsets at 8/16g. This product did not have this problem for the 1 item I bought using the Adafruit Unified library. I experienced the issue above using the GY291 ADXL345 breakout also found on Amazon or Ebay.I bought this item since it has a dedicated 3V3 pin that bypasses the voltage regulator to achieve low power consumption. I recorded 6uA in standbye mode, compared to 0.1uA in datasheet (Measure bit set to 0 in 0x2D register). And 120uA when data rate set to 50Hz,compared to 90uA in datasheet. My guess the extra leak-off is due to resistors, capacitors and surrounding circuitry. In general I am unsure of reliability of ADXL345 components due to the large number of issues seen online. Particularly because price varies wildly from Adafruit to no-name manufacturers, like this one. I hope to see more positive reviews to build trust in this device/manufacturer and seller.

I'm using it as a tilt sensor, but it is extremely low power for doing something like this. The seller is extremely helpful and wants nothing but to help customers. I bought two more. I hooked them up to a RPI Zero W. There are many sample programs available. There are python libraries, C, C++, even shell. Linux handles the devices directly.
