Works great! Smells gross, but they work great!
The product works great. The smell is really foul, especially on hot days. I live in a semirural area near horses and other livestock and the flies are huge and there are many if ithem. The flies always bother my dogs and I think some of them are biting flies. First I hung the traps up near where my dogs lay. The flies go to the bags, but the flies are still flying around the dogs. The bags were too close to my front door. The smell was awful. I moved the bags about 30 ft away from where my dogs lay, and further away from my front door. The flies still went to the bags instead of bothering my dogs nonstop. They still worked and the smell was further away. The bag is disgusting to look at. You can see that it is full of dead flies. I tried another brand to see if had less smell and still worked. The other brand had a design on the bag that blended in with the backyard better. It took longer for flies to be drawn to the other bags. I had to order the Catchmaster bags again because the new, better looking bags weren't as effective. These Catchmaster bags work. It would be great if they coyld change the packaging to blend in better and not be such an eyesore in your backyard.

Worked perfectly for a two Day Camping Trip
The appearance is what you'd except from a bag fly trap. Don't let the ugly descriptions deter you. If you're looking for an attractive fly killer, go for one of the electric ones. This one is effective for it's purpose. Yes it stinks, but not if you keep it outdoors 30-40ft away from where you hang out like the instructions tell you to do. Also, it doesn't matter as much for something like camping and short term because part of the stink problem is the decaying dead bugs. This is super easy to set up and it's nice it comes with ties, so you don't have to worry about bringing some with you! All you have to do is unscrew the top and pour in water to the line marked on the bag. Leave the top unscrewed when you leave it hanging up, that's how the bugs get inside. After taking two bags down after being up for a couple days, they had caught about 20 of those meat attested bees, that are annoying when you're eating. We only had one or two occasionally buzzing around our table. I also lite a citronella candle when we were eating. I was really impressed with how effective this was for just a two day trip, but made our camping experience much more enjoyable. UPDATE: We had another great experience camping with 4 bags hung around the campsite. I absolutely love having these for bug control!

Effective but smells like soggy death
We live in a desert around our farm and had a terrible fly problem. These have seemed to keep the flies away for the most part and I was surprised at how many it caught in such a short time. It caught so many that there began to grow maggots and I will tell you….it is the top 3 worst smells I have ever had to smell in my whole life. After the dead flies marinate in the ick if the other dead flies, the odor is so terrible, you can’t put it anywhere close to anything that has a nose. I’m trying to figure out how to dispose of it without throwing up. I’ve had then less than 2 weeks and the smell is unbearable. I won’t be able to keep up buying so frequently. A bit expensive when you think of it that way but like I said, it is effective at trapping the things.

Retrofit hanger
Find a different way to hang these. The flimsy wire (like a long twist tie) will break if the trap is allowed to swing in the breeze. Plastic bag is brittle and will break when it hits the ground, ruining the whole thing. Trap attracts flies and works great otherwise.

Insanely Effective
These traps are unbelievably effective, capturing a staggering number of flies quickly. The twist-shut lid is a smart feature for controlling the bait's exposure. However, be warned: the scent is extremely potent. While this makes it so effective, it's also not for the faint of heart. Hang these away from high-traffic areas to avoid overwhelming your outdoor spaces. Despite the strong odor, the sheer number of flies it eliminates makes it a valuable tool for pest control. Just use strategically!

Love to see those dead flies!!
Who would have thought that Oklahoma was such a breeding ground for flies? Flies everywhere!! I bought another brand of these last summer and they did an excellent job but they did stink up the whole backyard. Tried these and they are just as effective without the smell. And I've got 3 hanging right next to our patio!! These things are still attracting flies after 2 weeks!! And they are full of both dead and soon-to-be-dead flies. The only complaint I have is that the twist ties they give you to hang them with are rather weak, but using your own twine is an easy answer. If one hits the ground and a little liquid spills out, then it smells a bit. But otherwise, it is certainly not offensive. Only the flies can really smell the attractant and that's what you want!! And they are easy to cleaning up with the "screw top."

Very effective!
These worked great! Helped a ton in dealing with our yearly swarm of deer and horse flies that overtake our property a couple months every summer. Would highly recommend. Although, make sure to change them out when they start to fill up because they will begin to smell very, very strongly of rotting flies!

It works, just take days, though
It took several days before the flies started to munch this trap. Definitely collected a lot of flies. It works. It stinks and it's full of flies.
