The good, the bad, and the fugly
Well, first off: if you can get the program to run correctly, it's great (at least for the guided resume creation). It can be a little annoying if you have the narrator on, so I would recommend having it off.The real issue is getting the thing to run. I had no problems getting it started up. But after that all bets were off.To understand the problem, you'll need a quick back story into modern computer displaysMany modern computers are now using 1080HD monitors, which is great! you can watch movies and videos in glorious as real as it gets HD. The problem this created was that text and menus in windows started to get really small, because a 100 pixel menu, on a full HD screen would be an invisible spec. But on an old 800x600 screen, would be a large billboard. The fix for this problem is something called DPI-scaling or a DPI modifier. All it means is that you take menus and text, and make them bigger. If you simply did this by lowering the resolution of the screen, the quality would no longer be HD, defeating the point of even having an HD screen.99.999999999999999% of applications made in the last 15-20 years support, and work great with this feature. As company's that make these programs have been aware that screen resolution has always been increasing since the dawn of computers and have programmed for this eventuality. However, the programmers for this are in the very very small minority of stupid idiots, who couldn't possibly comprehend this.Simply put, most (if not all) windows 7 & later computers come out of the box running 125% DPI. Because with today's screens, you wouldn't be able to see anything without it set that way. This program is completely incompatible with that setting, things will be cut off and you won't really be able to use it. What is even more irritating, is that the program tells you it won't work with that setting, which means the programmers were aware of the issue, and too lazy or cheep to fix it! so you have 3 ways to deal with this, but none of them truly 'fix' the problem.A. Turn off your DPI setting, and live with the fact that you will never be able to see anything on the computer screen without a magnifying glass.B. Disable a setting in windows called "Use Windows XP style DPI scaling". This will make this program work fine, although it will be blurry. HOWEVER, be warned that this setting can cause LOTS of other programs on your computer that have worked fine before, to get all messed up and blurry and look like crap. (if you want to do this, just Google the setting & you can find out how)C. Right click on Resume Maker's short-cut, click properties, click compatibly. then check "Disable visual themes" and "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". This will not fix everything, but it will help reduce some of the text cut off, but the misplaced buttons and awkward layout issues remain. The only real way for this to be fixed, is for the developer to go back and do a relatively easy fix of the interface. But I wouldn't count on it, since they were too lazy to program it with this simple thing in the first place. Also, an important thing to note: MICROSOFT HAS MARKED THIS AS A WINDOWS INCOMPATIBLE PROGRAM, because of this issue.

Meh, needs updating
Needed to create a resume after my job of 25 years was outsourced - had to apply for my old job with a new company. Not having written a resume in some years (except for friends) I thought I would get a little help with formatting, etc.The app downloaded and installed without problem. After installing all available updates, got to work.Kinda weird, like stepping back into 10 year old Windows. Seems to emulate very old Microsoft Word - but not terribly well. Really needs updating. Also as other reviewers have noted - crashes a lot without warning. I run Win 7 64.There are some useful resources - advice, etc. I was able to use the templates for a professional looking resume - though none of the job-specific categories applied to me. But I think the formatting help and advice was worth the price.Got a job offer - we're negotiating terms now.One disturbing point - it contains a known security threat (Data Dynamics Active Bar 1.x) which has been known for years. No longer supported, no update available. Support options are nil.So - worked OK, felt very dated, I will uninstall it as soon as I know I won't need another resume. Really needs updating.

Useful but ultimately buggy and outdated
First off, it does take away the pain of creating resumes which is a nice plus when looking for a job (You still have to rewrite the resumes after using the templates to fit your personal skills though). I also like the contact manager which I use quite a lot to make notes on all the places I've contact. Now for the bad:-The job search function does not work at all. I went online with my browser and checked out jobs that way.-The Word export is quite buggy and it will leave out whole sentences. This is paticularly true when my resume became dense with information-There is no true manual so you will have to figure out the software on your ownUltimately, I recommend this software for less than 20 dollars (15 dollars is better). Use it as a starting point but make sure you have your professional friends look at your resume for a re-write.

Outdated and non existing support
The program itself is outdated and not intuitive to use at all. All those 'samples' are quite useless if there is no good way of finding the right one either. But what annoyed me most is their support. I wanted to make use of the 'publish online' feature and be able to edit/create resumes away from my computer. If you do that the programm tells you your resume was published successfully and you even get a confirmation e-mail with the login info. But when you try to actually login on the website or with the mobile app, it does not know your account. Support (Matt Moran) does not seem to have any clue what-so-ever even though he seems to check the Amazon feedback telling people to contact support when they have a problem. Troubleshooting does not seem to be part of support apparently. Things like 'please try again' or 'It works for me' are REALLY useless. I even send screenshots of the whole process to only be ignored after that as apparently he has no idea what is wrong. I even created a new e-mail address and tried again to still run into the same problem (account (e-mail address) cannot be found when you try to login). If it works for Matt I must be doing something wrong. But then help me out with it and don't ignore my e-mails (that were quite polite).

Resume for Professional
I bought this because it came highly recommended and was well reviewed. I was seeking an upgraded version of WinWay. This program does a lot more and produces exceptional resumes. However, it is not an easy program to learn. It is very difficult to operate and not user friendly. Does not offer as much of a range as Winway in terms of formatting dressing up your resume. It converts well to PDF and Word but loses all uniqueness in the conversion. If you purchase this products, it will take you two hours per day for two weeks to learn how to produce the best resume for your purpose. Be prepared for anxiety and frustration.
