Is the monitor small enough to carry around like a pager?

It is larger than a pager. It could be carried in a sweatshirt pockets or small purse. It is too large to fit into pants or shirt pockets. Roughly 5inch x 3 inch x 1 inch

Is the pad anti-slip?

I can only tell you that the Smart Caregiver cordless floor mat sensor is in on a bedroom (floor). The mat is on carpeting. It does not slip on the carpeting. Hope this helps.

What does the adapter do?

Adapter? A portable unit is the only thing I know that goes off the chime

My father steps onto the corner of mat to use his toilet and doesn’t always go off. Is there an area of the mat where the sensor does not register?

While the Smart Caregiver Economy Cordless Floor Mat should have sensors throughout the entire floor mat, there are no sensors along the edge. The rubber edge, which measures about 1 inch along the perimeter of the mat. We would advise adjusting the positioning of the pad to ensure the perimeter is not the main portion that is stepped on. If you are still experiencing issues, this item is covered under a 1-year warranty. We advise contacting the seller or the manufacture in order to submit a warranty claim.
