Buying the Big Jets: Fleet Planning for Airlines

The book is the result of many years of practice in both industry and academic arenas. So it not only has good depth in the items discussed but also is very comprehensive. This thirs edition clearly benefitted from experience gained in past editions (I'd also bought the 2nd edition and read it cover to cover). Very commendable.

This is an excellent book for a general overview and start on airline fleet planning, airline economics and airline maintenance (regarding fleet selection process). I truly recommend for anyone interested in easy to read and outstanding quality book on airline fleet planning. No previous knowledge on the subject is required to understand the book concepts.

The book is truly an amazing educational, self explanatory and informative document; that would defiantly help in this field. I have been working as an Airline agent for exactly twenty years in this field and learnt a lot from this highly recommended book.If I were the head of IATA, I would recommend all airlines to have one at least in their technical library

In preparation for an interview in Fleet Planning, I read this book, and I found out that the every employee in that department has to read this book for their job. It was a nice surprise for me and them when we found out I was already reading it.

It's a great book, and the new edition includes some cases to deep into the topics. It has valuable information about the last trends in fleet planning and the last aircraft types.

I used this book in writing my masters dissertation in Aviation Management. The book has a comprehensive information about the entire fleet planning process in details from general theories to the detailed economics, which formed the best available literature for fleet planning. I definitely recommend this book to any person who is interested in airlines fleet planning. Be aware that this edition is from 2007.

Great introduction to the key decision drivers in aircraft purchase

It was definitely worth the purchase! Way cheaper then the textbook they sold at my university.

If you're new to fleet planning, this book definitely gives you far more insight than sitting down with your colleagues and listening to the different points of interest and understanding of this complex business.
