works exactly as advertised.
be advised, this is a REPLACEMENT key fob. Keyless entry was an option for these cars, and if your car did not come with the option for keyless entry, it will not work. the car must have the keyless entry remote receiver module installed.

Worked Great
Had to watch the video as the online instructions are in accurate. Here are the correct steps.1 get in the vehicle and unlock it with the drivers power lock2 have all your remotes new and old with you and insert the key.3 Turn the key as far as it will go without starting the car.4 within 4 seconds press the lock button.5 turn the car off6 repeat steps 3-5 two more times.7 turn the car to the almost start position one more time. Press the lock button. The car should lock itself. 8 Press the lock button once more to store the program.9 Turn the key to off.10 Take your keys and remotes outside and verify everything works.

User Error - 2002 Honda CRV LX
(Skip to ##### for the main message)I’m writing this in case anyone else may not be aware. So, to try and keep the story short, I had a key fob that was coming apart (looked nothing like this one). On a small little trip to the beach, I inevitably lost the insides that make the remote work. SO, I figured I might as well just get a compatible remote as a replacement. After literal HOURS of trying and nothing happening, I was very much confused. I have a 2002 Honda CRV, for any of you who need that context.I did all the different methods, and was still convinced that everything in the car was normal factory stuff. Y’know, like, if the alarm worked before, I should be able to reprogram it easily to this one. Why is my Honda such a special case? There’s no way my Honda can be the exception.I need y’all to listen closely, at least the ones who aren’t aware of this already because I wasn’t. Just because the alarm worked with one remote, does not mean it’ll work with another. That seems like common sense right? Well, see, I was under the impression that my Honda had the OEM keyless entry unit installed. I have a completely different unit installed from what I can only assume was from a dealership the last owners got the CRV from. This key fob was never gonna work. No key fob other than the brand or dupe of the brand I had was going to work.#######################Please please please look closely to make sure you have an OEM keyless entry unit installed. On a 2002 Honda CRV, it can be found in the middle storage console under the vents. You need to remove it to access where the unit would normally be installed, it should be connected to a neon green plug looking thing. If there’s nothing there, this key fob won’t work and you’ll need either get the OEM unit (or any other unit I may not be aware of) OR look around your car to see if you don’t have an aftermarket keyless entry unit installed already. In my case, I’ve noticed a red LED under the wheel console which I at one point figured out that’s the LED that tells me the alarm is on. I thought all cars had this or something similar to it, so I thought that’s how this car came out of the factory. In other words I didn’t pay any mind to it.Obviously I was wrong, and it turns out it’s an aftermarket keyless entry unit. It can be reprogrammed but I need the remote I had in the first place. Hence why I had to return this one (trust me, I tried to get it to work with what I had), the frequency was I think just too low compared to the one I had.I give this 4 stars because I want anyone who isn’t aware as to why their key fob isn’t working to maybe come by this, but I also can’t be sure as to how well it would have worked. Not only that but the remote felt kind of cheapish, but I guess you get what you pay for. Other than that, this comes with a battery already installed and with the innards to in theory work!

If you're persistent ...
Revise: It is almost three years later. I discovered I could replace the battery. It's still a little frustrating to make this thing unlock and lock the doors. But I have full confidence now after nearly three years of using it. So I'm finally buying a new one. I'm increasing to three stars, which is my bare minimum to suggest that you should buy this item. Price and longevity have sold me. But just barely. You can program this inexpensive fob to work in your CR-V if you don't get frustrated. I fiddled around with it for a few minutes, following the instructions online on YouTube (Easy to find on Google). I found no credible instructions in the box. So to program, it is a matter of turning your ignition key to the on position, pushing the fob unlock button and turning the key off. Three times, then confirming with a fourth time. It took me about a dozen times before the signal worked. I found the newly programmed fob does not work every time I tried to lock or unlock my CR-V. But it does work eventually. Patience helps, but it is not reassuring. In addition, it does not look like you can replace the battery. So once it's done, it's done. And when this one is done, I'm spending a few more dollars on something more to my liking. I would not buy this again.

Instructions arent quite correct
Works great after i figured it out. Key removal after lock cycle, before using new fob, not just key off. When you need to add other fobs, ignore the repeat steps instruction("repeat step 7" which states "use fob from step 4") just press the lock button once on each extra fob after the intitial lock cycle but within 5 seconds, then remove the key to seal the deal, key off position (alone) will not do it as instructions say

Not as advertised and doesn’t work
The description for this remote says it is manufactured by USARemotes but it is actually manufactured by “remotesremotes.com”. I specifically selected this remote and reseller based upon the stated manufacturer since I had previously purchased the same remote from two other resellers. The remotes from “remotesremotes.com are well made and nicely packaged but they do not work for my 2003 Honda CRV contrary to the listed information. They program exactly as instructed and will lock the doors, open the rear hatch and activate the panic alarm but will not unlock the doors. The manufacturer needs to update their firmware to correct the problem. I cannot recommend these remotes. Furthermore, this reseller does not pay return shipping costs which is very poor customer service. I cannot recommend this reseller.12/14/21 update - since requesting my refund, I have been in constant contact with the reseller and to their credit, they refunded my return shipping costs as well as my full purchase costs. I hope they correct their listing to reflect the correct manufacturer of their remotes.
