A Journal-Enthusiast's Gold Standard
Purchased as a gift for my husband, who's always looking for a good journal but had yet to find one that really kept him writing each day. He's only had the Hobonichi Techo for a few days but so far he's incredibly pleased with it - even with its admittedly eye-watering price tag. It's perfectly sized for carrying around throughout the day, but not too diminutive to comfortably use; the paper has an ethereal quality while still feeling substantial; and the simplicity of its page layout provides just enough organization and guidance without limiting user expression. It really is the kind of journal that gets you excited about writing in it each day, because it's meant to be a work of art you complete throughout the year and keep for posterity.

Excellent Quality - Great for anyone who's into Fountain Pens
The quality of this is exceptional. I truly love using this day in and day out. The paper quality is also amazing. I am a fountain pen hobbyist and find that the paper in this behaves really well with all my fountain pens. You will be surprised how much you can fit into any page. It's really easy to also use this for keeping your schedule. I bought a leather cover to protect it. I love carrying this around with me. You won't regret buying this. I prefer this size over the cousins size because it's easy to carry, doesn't take up much space on my desk, and you get all your planning needs accomplished.

A Hidden Gem Journal/Planner Blending Unmatched Quality and Functionality
If organizers were a Broadway musical, the Hobonichi Techo would be Hamilton—hyped but worth every penny! In terms of comparing all known stationery that serves as a practical planner or daily journal, this one has triumphantly claimed the Iron Throne, reigning as the "Journal-Enthusiast's Jewel" in my book. No kidding, it's like an Armani suit for your thoughts and plans.Let's talk about its paper. Oh, the paper! If a tree had to die for this, it did so with immense honor. Writing on this is like scribbling your deepest secrets on a silk handkerchief or a royal parchment. All kinds of pens, from your everyday garbage BIC to the luxurious fountain types, dance a beautiful tango on it, so much so that even a grocery list feels like a Shakespearean sonnet penned amidst a war between kingdoms. But the Techo isn't just another pretty face. It's the veritable Swiss Army knife of planners. Want to bullet journal today and doodle a sloth on your cheat day tomorrow? You got it! Missed planning a few days? No worries! The inconspicuous dates won't judge you. They'll just gently nudge you to fill up the blank canvas you missed with ideas or treasured quotes at a later date. The best part? It's the perfect little chameleon, blending into any desk space with stealth and finesse. And while it's a prince or princess on the inside, it's a rugged survivor on the outside. Slap on a leather jacket (cover), and this bad boy can survive everything from coffee spills to nuclear fallout (well, maybe not the fallout, but you get the point). So, drum roll, please! The Hobonichi Techo is the symphony where style waltzes with substance. It's a loyal companion, riding shotgun through the rollercoaster of your year, maybe even life. I can't wait for the 2024 sequel. I hear it's gonna be a blockbuster! No, seriously, I think I've found my journal until I die or they go out of production. Final Rating: Flawless 10.0/10.0

Great Planner - Well Worth The Cost
Been using Hobonichi planners (either the Techo, Cousin, or Weeks) for about 6 years. Admittedly, I have a notebook “thing:” got lots of them in all sizes, from many manufacturers, spanning a wide price range. The Hobonichi line is ALL about the paper. The Tomoe River paper is super-thin allowing for a large capacity in a small form factor. It’s also great for most pens/markers - (most) fountain pens/ink don’t bleed through. I’m also a fan of the various layouts the Techo provides - monthly/weekly/daily views with some blank notes pages in the rear. Yeah, it costs a bit more than a planner you might pick up at your local office supply store, but it’s worth it.

Compact and perfect for on the go
I have planners for life categories and this one fits amazingly well as an everyday carry. I write my daily to dos on the daily page and can keep track of appointments and important dates on the monthly pages. This is my 3rd year using a techo and I think it will continue to be staple in my collection.

Wowza
It's really nice, handy planner. Writing is very nice in it, but pricey but that's because of it coming out of Japan. Worth it if you like to keep a daily journal, if you're planning for events, the weeks version makes sense as it's more designed for that.

Jury is out
Every year I get my sister a planner for Xmas. I researched and folks said this was the best planner out there. I read that the paper is thin but not too see through. That is true. I love the sayings and recipes that are not US centric, but from Japan instead. The cover is lovely, flexible, leather like material. Drawbacks are there are no holidays - you have to add them all yourself. Also each spread is 2 days. Just FYI if that’s what you are looking for.

The perfect planner for planner enthusiasts
It's a expensive planner so you really have to be someone who's relies on a paper planner to buy it and make full use of it.First of all, it's the perfect size. If one wants, they may even use it as a pocket planner. It can go into small bags or purses without a problem. Personally, I find this perfect because it's neither too big nor too small. The cover is durable so it can withstand any space with minimal damage. The paper quality is absolutely impeccable. This is probably one of the very few times, if not the first, that I've come across a surface which can take any type of pen or pencil and not bleed through. The spacing is really good. I can note down times appointments, take any jot notes throughout my day, doodle and still have enough space to write a little poem if I want. Keep in mind that because the size is small, you will need to have small writing.Overall a 5/5 purchase and probably my best investment in a planner and also for 2023.

A perfect diary for everyday use.
They are a bit on the pricey side, but it's honestly worth it. These diaries are compact and really simple to use. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys a more orderly diary and the bidaily motivational quote.

Worth every cent!
This is unlike an planner I have usedin the past. Brilliantly designed, and super-thin pages keep it compact and easy to travel with. If you are contemplating whether to purchase this product, I would recommend you do it - worth every cent.
