New App Makes a Huge Difference
It took us a minute to set up correctly, but that was due more to our inexperience than anything. I would recommend having someone that knows electric work on stand by 😂 Love this product. The new app is much more intuitive and offers a lot of options for setting up a routine and being able to integrate with Alexa is a nice feature. My only complaint is the touch controls on the side of the thermostats. They're very touchy and take a minute to go thru. I will go get my phone in the other room and adjust the temp using the app before I try to navigate the actual thermostat. Other than that, very happy with it.

These are cheap and they feel cheap
And if you live in the Apple or Amazon ecosystem, they’re kludgy. I had had Eeros in the past and they were perfect. But aesthetically I liked the fancy nest and I bought these for my second and third zones.Lot that I don’t love about the software but particularly you are forced to install and set up Google home. These plastic doofuses do NOT work with the Nest software. And the software is very opinionated. Biggest issue took me a month to figure out - by default it goes into eco mode if it doesn’t see you for awhile. Even if you’re sitting in the room. Just to be clear - that means it stops the AC if you don’t wave at it after 20 minutes. It’s an obnoxious thing to figure out and more so to fix.If you have the right wires, install was pretty easy. Being thermometers and being in Alexa they are fine day to day.Except that they’re just ugly and cheap. The glass finish is a fingerprint nightmare and feels like a toy. The interface is trash - unlike the fancy one which is a nice rotating wheel, this has a sketchy side-swipe to change temperature and entire bizarre useless menus. Finally Google’s upsell machine is running on full. Sign up for subscriptions for filters, join this energy rebate program, try yet another soon to be failed Google product. This has that cheap trashy feel of an early aughts laptop with WinRar popups.Anyway it’s cheap, ugly, and the software is trash. Must be better for the Green Bubble crowd, but if you don’t use Android it’s a chore.
