Perfect for Forensics or Discovery Cracking
I sometimes work in Forensics / Discovery Cracking, where I'd extract data for evidence in a lawsuit. The issue is that sometimes the other legal team has no issue handing you what might be a root kit either through ignorance or incompetence. Whenever I have a laptop sent to a lab, I often hope the lab guys know what they are doing, but very often they are college interns. I have had situations where evidence actually "hacked" the lab or the office. Now, if I get a laptop in the field or via the other legal team, I'll seal it up in this Mission Darkness sleeve, and then have it sent to the lab. It will have clear instructions that it also must be opened up in a faraday cage environment. Anyway, I tested how secure this bag is, and was able to see the laptop disappear from my network and from my bluetooth war driver. If you require that level of discreteness or protection, I can recommend this sleeve.

If you need it, you know; great Faraday bag
Dry Shield Faraday Laptop Sleeve: $115 at the time of reviewSo, a faraday cage (or bag, in this case) is one of those things that most people probably don't know about. For the unaware, a faraday cage is a specially designed space that blocks out electromagnetic radiation (e.g., radio waves). As you can imagine, this comes in handy if you need to protect electronic equipment (from say, somebody trying to access it illicitly). Well, I don't have a terribly frequent need for such a thing, I do occasionally go places for work, where this is an advantage. So when I saw a nifty combination, dry bag and faraday bag, I hoped it would be the one for me.I'm happy to report, that this bag is excellent. The quality of craftsmanship (including the material, stitching, and fasteners) is absolutely top-notch. Well, I didn't dunk the bag completely in water, I did pour water on it, and it rolled right off. There's no doubt in my mind that the triple fold magnetic seal would keep water out.As for EM, shielding protection, I can vouch that as soon as I close this pouch with a device inside, my device was no longer readable. I tested an iPhone, an Apple Watch, and Macbook. All three devices became unreadable almost immediately upon closing the magnetic opening. One thing I'd like to point out about this case that's really cool is the fact that Mission Darkness produces a free testing app that you can use to help verify the seal of the bag. This is awesome considering that something made out of cloth can eventually wear down and cause a break in the seal. A Faraday bag is only as good as its seal after all. I'll most likely use this app every time (which is only once or twice a year) that I need to use this bag in production.I'll admit, I was a little concerned by the price tag when I first saw it. After all, $115 for a laptop sleeve seems pretty darn high. However, considering the quality craftsmanship and build of the bag as well as the water, tight and faraday protection, I think it's worth every single penny. This bag is an absolute five stars out of five for me. I would definitely order it over again.

works super well
When it comes to technology and gadgets, there are a lot of options out there. Some are affordable but may not work very well, while others are high-quality but come with a steep price tag. I can always count on it to do what I need it to do, whether that's sending an email, browsing the web, or streaming a movie.Thirdly, the gadget has a clean and sleek design that looks great no matter where I use it. Its modern and minimalist design makes it a stylish addition to any room, and its compact size means that it doesn't take up too much space.Fourthly, the price of this gadget makes it a must-have for anyone who values convenience and quality. It is affordable and accessible, making it a great option for people on a budget who still want a high-quality gadget that will meet their needs.Fifthly, the quality of this gadget is truly exceptional. It is well-made, durable, and built to last, which means that I can use it for years to come without worrying about it breaking or becoming outdated.Overall, this gadget is a must-have for anyone who wants a high-quality, reliable, and convenient gadget that looks great and won't break the bank. Great concept, but poorly executed
I was very eager to buy this as it seems to be a practical pouch to carry a laptop. I was also quite happy to see the design with magnets as they would seem to snap in place quickly and easily. Sadly though the bag turns out to be way to large and the folding latches have sharp corners, and the material is rather inflexible. as a result, it is impossible to put the folded bag in a knapsack or small travel bag as it takes up too much room. Conversely, it has no handles or usable side pockets to serve as a bag in its own right. So it is an oversized, awkward sleeve that is unfortunately not more practical and versatile and does not do the job intended..

Verified effective! It really does block signal transmissions
The media could not be loaded. I've been a little bit more conscious about the security of my laptop and cell phone on work trips and figured a signal blocking laptop case would be a great solution for an added layer of security. So far this laptop case is holding up well and I have confidence that it's doing its job. Here’s what I like and don’t like about this Mission Darkness laptop case:****************************************************LIKES*Effective- though I don't have any fancy testing equipment I read online that a simple way to test the effectiveness of "Faraday" fabric or other RFID blocking material is by using your cell phone. The construction of the metallic woven material isn't supposed to let any electronic transmissions pass through it so your cell phone should lose all connections when it's inside. I tested this with this Mission Darkness laptop case by calling my wife's phone and then placing my phone on speakerphone and putting it into the laptop case and sealing it up. After a few seconds my phone dropped the call and all attempts at calling it went straight to voicemail. Though I don't have any fancy radio frequency testing equipment, after that simple test I'm pretty confident the case is doing its job and working as advertised.*Roll Top Closure- I didn't think I was going to like the roll top magnetic closing mechanism on this case but I was surprised how much I actually enjoy it. All of my laptop cases up until this point have been zippers but the roll top is actually pretty slick. It opens and closes quickly and easily, and it stays shut in transit. From what I understand of the material the overlapping of the ends also makes it more secure at blocking out any kind of signals.*Interior Lining - The interior of the case is lined with a soft felt-like material that makes it easy to slide my laptop in and out and offers a layer of protection from scuffs and scratches.*Water Resistant- The outer surface of the case has a plastic-like coating on the fabric that makes water and moisture bead right off and makes it easy to wipe down when it gets dirty. The bottom edge seam appears to be heat pressed and the multiple rolls on the opening end give me a good measure of confidence that this would keep out some light splashes, but it's definitely not waterPROOF.*Slim- The case itself isn't made up of very many layers. It's basically like an envelope with the outer, rubber/plastic-ey material, the inner metal mesh fabric and the felt liner. This keeps the profile nice and thin.*Outer Pocket- There's an outer zippered pocket that will fit my cell phone (though I don't believe the outer pocket is shielded the same way that the main pocket is) or my small charger block and cable. The pocket's not very wide so I don't think it would hold a bigger charging brick but for a smaller one it does the job just fine.*Value- though it definitely isn't cheap, I think the $115 price is fair for the amount of security and peace of mind that this case provides. I've looked into making a case myself by purchasing Faraday material but the material itself is very expensive so that justifies the price in my opinion.****************************************************DISLIKES*Bottom Edge- The bottom edge is a heat pressed seam and it almost feels kind of sharp. Not like it would cut you or anything, just a little abrasive. It also sort of folds over when the laptop case is slid down into my bag all the way. Though it's holding up great so far, I have a feeling that if something is going to wear out over time this is probably where it's going to start.*Charger Pocket- as mentioned above the zippered pocket on the front of the case isn't very deep. My USB-C charging block and cable fits in there just fine but I can't fit my full size charger and power cord in there.*No drop protection- since there isn't a lot of material and extra padding on this case it's not going to provide any sort of drop protection. It's not advertised to do that, I just thought it was worth mentioning.****************************************************Overall I'm very happy with the extra layer of security that this Mission Darkness laptop case provides and I would definitely recommend it.
