Excellent for knee rehab
THIS was a gamechanger for me with a previous medial collateral ligament injury plus arthritis plus deconditioning plus overweight. My knee had severely decreased range of motion, could not fully straighten or bend, and pain while walking and used a cane often. Did this program several times a day (easy, takes only a few minutes) and can do it literally anywhere. Was walking well in 2 weeks. It does have a quiz inside that tells you whether or not this program will benefit you, would be good to know ahead

shows knee structure
I had to go to therapy for my knee that I injured in my yard. My wonderful therapist recommended this book to read. It has pictures that show knee structure.

This worked so well for me!
The exercises in this book were the same as ones I had done in physical therapy but the amount t of time holding them and the frequency was different. Before I got the book I wore a brace and iced my knee at least twice a day. I have not worn a brace in a couple of years. If I feel the pain coming back I do the exercises again and I’m good again!

The best physical therapy
I happened upon a video of Yoav Suprun, a PT in Miami, and he showed how I could bend my knees without pain in order to get back funcion and reduce pain. Had I not seen that, I wouldn't have bought this book. I got steroid shots in both knees and had 8 weeks of PT, and faithfully did my PT homework every day. M knees were still painful, swollen, and restricted my motion and ruined my days and nights. You need to read the whole book of aroung 70 pages and understand the ideas behind the exercises and stretches. I followed the instructions and made more progress than the steroid shots and PT I had been doing. One knee seems completely healed, the other about 80-90%. I'm going to keep doing this program of stretching and strengthening three times a day until I'm back to "normal" and I fully expect that to happen. I wouldn't have believed this simple program would work had I not done it myself. Robin McKenzie wrote a series of self help physical therapy books and I now have this, the shoulder, and the neck books. I'm 70 years old and plan on staying active with the help of this knowledge.

Brilliant, better than 20 doctors visits
This book was recommended by my Doctor. The Doctor who wrote this book was a New Zealander so his books and ideas are well known to all the local doctors. Save yourself endless physio and other specialists visits and try these simple but well researched and proven exercises... they may well be life changing and certainly wont make anything worse. Try the neck book as well, its brilliant.

Nothing groundbreaking here, proably more useful to those that are older or not as active
Honestly, this day in age, just Google rehab protocols and watch Youtube videos. I actively train in combat sports and sprained my ACL and was hoping to secure a nice "rehab" routine to facilitate healing. This book boasts of self-healing. The book is written in a very digestible manner. However, I found it to be fluffed up with quite basic / common knowledge. For example, some suggestions given to decrease knee pain and issues include : increase walking, increase your general fitness, improve your balance, lose weight. The exercise protocol chapter 5 is mostly what I was looking for from this book, thinking the entire book would be practice oriented. I dogeared one page that had hamstring stretch I found useful. Chapter 5 is "30" pages of the 80 or so. "30" because the book uses large margins, larger size font and then their are pictures. It seems directed towards someone who goes between work and home and that's really it. Someone without a gym membership and no intentions of getting one. This is not directed towards athletes and young people. Possibly my expectations were high, but I am not impressed with the McKenzie method (they really push the brand). I had thoughts of buying the Treat Your Own Neck, but I will just Google things...

Fabulous and really works!
Fabulous, really helped me with my knee pains. Robin McKenzie is the original person who devised the exercises that all NHS and Physios base their exercises upon. He explains the Why things are happening, and shows clearly what to do. Exercises are not difficult at all, but makes such a difference!
