My son needed this battery pack so he could mow our lawn without recharging. This seems to have an equivalent battery life as the original Kobalt 40V 6Ah battery, but much less expensive. We've only gone through three discharge-recharge cycles, but so far, so good. The only difference is that this battery does not show the charge level while charging. That is not a big deal, since we just pop them in the charger and leave them. Charge time is comparable, I think. I hope it lasts as long as the Kobalt, but since we bought them both at the same time, we will know if it is really a good value over the long haul. ** Update 5/30/2024 ** One year in and it still works great, estimating about 30 charge/discharge cycles thus far. We need about 2.5 batteries worth of charge to mow, trim, and blow. This is holding it's own compared to the Kobalt batteries.

Ok 1st of all it does run my Kobalt lawn mower without an issue. Sadly it doesn’t work when inserted into my weed eater or the leaf blower. It stops after 5 seconds and you have to release the trigger and it will start again. Over and over again. I’m guessing maybe it has an over current sensor that kicks in on those devices I don’t really know. If your buying for a leaf blower or weed eater look somewhere else. Updated review :The manufacturer did reach out and wanted to correct the situation and sent me a new battery. The new battery is flawless and now works in all my devices. It’s great to see a company who backs their products and stands behind them. I highly recommend.

Would not hold a charge. I charged it fully, used if for a few minutes and put it away. Next day I tried to use it, the battery was dead. Fully charged it again. Same thing happened, used it for only a short period and the battery was dead the next day.

So far I’m happy as the last one I bought did not work with the Kobalt 40v mower I have. This one came in low on charge. Charged it up with no issues and the mower fired right up. Now just need to see how long I get on runtime.

I had seen mixed feedback on these batteries, suggesting that they might not work with older Kobalt tools because of slight changes in the battery design. Received this battery yesterday, charged overnight and it worked fine in my Kobalt KM 2041B-06 mower (40v, 20-in deck) from 3-4 years ago. The battery does not last quite as long as my OEM 6MAh battery, but for the price it's a good value and provides plenty of extra runtime to get through my larger lawn. I'll try to remember to update at the end of the season on how the charge holds up after weekly usage & recharging all summer.

We haven't had it for very long, but it is an exact fit for the original. It charges well so far and does ½ of our property, just like the factory battery.

Frustrated with the short battery life of our Kobalt push mower and reading that those batteries only only meant to last a couple of year, I wanted a backup. Lowe’s only had a lower AH in stock and they were super expensive. To match the 5.0 of our original battery, it was out of stock but listed at $185, most than half cost of the mower. Yeah, no… This battery doesn’t come with a charger but it does fit in the Kobalt charger. No issues with charging or using. Being 6.0 I think the charge is supposed to last slightly longer than the 5.0 but my son has been the only one to run down the new battery completely. I just use it for small jobs, but don’t notice any performance issues (besides the lawnmower not being awesome but that’s not this battery’s fault). Very happy it works with the original charger and fits perfectly so it’s 100% interchangeable with the OEM battery but less expensive. Update 2 months later: lowered from 5 to 2 stars. After using once a week, this battery doesn’t last even half what the original Kobalt battery does. The original Kobalt battery you can tell when it starts getting low, this one goes a short time and then just stops completely. I have a 40ftx45ft garden and I mow the walkways between beds. Today the Kobalt battery did 3/4 of it before dying and I did the tallest/worst sections first. This battery only had to do the last 1/4 which should have been easy. Barely finished the garden and tried to do another small section of the yard and then it died. As long as it takes to charge compared to how long it lasts, this is maybe worth $50, definitely not $100+. Very disappointed with battery life.

EDIT: I was outside the return window, but DSANKE reached out and offered me a refund anyway. I would consider trying one of their products again in the future. This is the single worst purchase I've made in Amazon. The battery didn't last even half as long as the original and clearly doesn't deliver the amperage or should on its first use. I charged it again and gave it a second chance and this time it lasted less than two minutes until it started cutting on and off rapidly. I plugged in the original battery age finished my now with no issues. I have to imagine that if you can even use this, it'll damage your mower when it starts eventually spazzing out.

Terrible product. Wont hold charge after less than a year of occoasional use.
