1. This rug comes vacuum sealed. When you take it out it will have wrinkles/'folding lines' on it. It will not lay flat if you just throw it on the floor and do literally nothing beyond that. It is a **plush** rug, meaning that a) when it is vacuum sealed it will 'deflate' some and b) it needs to be 'fluffed' and have time to re-absorb air into the plush base of the fabric. The great news is, air is free! It is all around you, 24/7. Just like you fluff a pillow, or shake out a towel/blanket/sleeping bag before folding it up, this rug too needs to be shaken out. A task requiring minimal effort and patient may seem harrowing to some. But literally, just lay out the rug, have it 'do the wave' from all sides(especially the ones where more fold lines are visible), LET IT SIT, and boom in a few hours/less than 1 day you will have a nice, flat, plush rug. Magic.2) The smell. I agree that the smell is...certainly there, and not to be ignored, even willfully. I also think that can't really be helped, unfortunately, if you want a clean and expediently shipped rug for <$70. My cat hated the smell at first - he was afraid to even step on the rug(to be fair, his 'territory' also has never had a rug in it, so the whole concept was foreign to him).Easy fix: sprinkle some baking powder on that sucker, put out a couple bowls of white vinegar, and the smell should be gone within two days at MOST. (Don't forget to vacuum out the baking powder though!) After that, my cat looooved the rug, as did I! Super cute colors, very soft and comfy.

I was a little nervous reading the reviews as some people commented about a strange smell. I opened the carpet up and laid it outside for about 3-4 hours and brought it in. Not only did it lay perfectly flat, but it also has no smell at all! It also has decent cushion and is very soft. Very happy with the product! Jolene approves as well!

The carpet is not as fluffy or thick as I would like. It generally works well for my home office though. It’s not like I’ll be laying on it or anything 😂 I bought it more for aesthetics!

The item is soft and has a nice little bit of padding. It does need to lay to get the folds out of it. But what struck me as odd is that it arrived kind of thrown in the box with the plastic that it should have been in looking like it had been cut open and just thrown into the box.

I got this because my dog is sort and likes to jump off the recliner or the bed and having a VCT floor makes it kind of unstable for her to jump from that height. I put the rug in a location that when she jumps off either one of those locations she is jumping onto the rug. It is very soft and keeps her from hurting herself. Plus she loves to roll around on it!

I love the softness of the rug . I don’t like that it’s hard to get stuff off of it when vacuuming it . I have to pick through the rug with my hands to keep it clean .

Not as large as I thought but that's my bad for not reading fully.. came vacuumed sealed and smelled strongly of chemicals but we let it air and now like it.. super soft

I got this rug for my niece and she immediately fell in love with it. She calls it her princess rug. It came air sealed so it was pretty flat but give it a few days to settle and the fibers perk right up

Got it for my enfant as he was beginning to crawl n often bumped his head on the floor.Though it's colourful n looks nice in the kids room but is not cushy/ thick enough to protect the kid if he falls; plus it skids on the marble / tile flooring too... - won't ever recommend it to new moms looking for a rug for kid's activity unless it's only for ornamentation of the room.

Very thin. Edges lift. Slides around as insufficient backing to grip to floor. Not good quality.
