Great Small Office landline option
I admit, I was hesitant to purchase this and the companion wireless handsets based on the mixed reviews. First, let me say, this is not a higher tier VOIP phone (e.g. Cisco, Polycom, etc). That said, this is a great alternative if you do not need that type of system.I decided to try these in a small field office, with a total staff of 8. I'm not going to get into why we need dedicated phones, but we do. I told my boss I would take care of it and save our organization about 2K a year doing it my way. He said do it.Our FO has awesome gigabit internet speed, so I got us four magicjacks set up, did some deep dive configuring with both magicjacks and our company's primary VOIP service provider in the cloud admin panel, and I purchased some RCA Unison devices. The phone setup was fast, the audio quality is great both ways, and overall I feel like this is an exceptional value. The audio isn't 100% compared to say a Polycom VOIP handset, but I would say its 90-95% as good. There's a lot of features on these phones that are only found on top-tier offerings by big-name manufactures. They're simple, seem to work well, and as long as they hold up, I anticipate they'll last at least five years. Here's a breakdown of pricing and costs, as it related to the problem I wanted to solve.$93 for the main base phone, $66 per remote phone. A simple system for most small offices would consist of 4-8 phones. We'll assume we need six.$93 + ($66×5) = $423 (one-time cost)$60/yr per magicjack x4 = $240/yrAssuming this will system will last for 5 years, the total infrastructure and service cost is $1,623.00.If we were to have gone with our VOIP provider:Polycom phone lease: $25/MO ($300/yr) per phone, and service for provisioned service per phone at $10/MO ($120/yr). $420/YR × 6 phones = $2,520.00/YR. That's not even getting into the costs relating to minute useage and allotment. So, for five years with our VOIP provider, the total cost for six phones and provisioned service is: $12,600.00, plus the costs for per minute usage during that time period. As long as you have either a landline, or internet with a modest speed and no major data drains - and you add a magicjack (or four), the RCA Unison is a very capable and very reliable option at a great price. If anything adverse occurs with these phones, I will immediately update this review.

U1000
I liked the day and night greeting features, main reason it was purchased. Other brands had similar functionality but did not allow customized times. Sound quality is not perfect, but this was also not expensive so you get what you pay for. Buttons are nice size for people with bad eyes. Has digital receptionist for adding extensions etc. Screen is s bit dark. Decent for a small business.

Good looking phone, great price and fast shipping. 5 stars.
Fast shipping and it's new machine, just as ordered. It's a good looking phone with good ergonomics.Only problem is the answering system light blinks (blue) all of the time without any messages. So I think I have a message and really don't. Did a factory reset and it went away until the first call. It's been back since. Can't find anything about it online or in the full manual. Not a big deal for me but its mildly irritating.09/08/19I revised the review. Can't figure out the what or how, but that blinking thing stopped early on. It works perfectly.I'd buy another.

Quality Product But Lacks Fundamentals
I purchased this system with 2 cordless handsets about a month ago for my home office to replace an outdated GE 4 Line Phone that's well over 10 years old. The phones feel like they're quality built and the corded handset has a nice weight to it unlike a Vtech system I tried to replace my GE system with last year, however this phone has a set of deficiencies in my eyes that prevents me from rating it 5 stars.1) Inbound and outbound calls are grouped together in the Calls menu. There is no way to separate outbound and inbound, making it a chore to redial a number if you've taken inbound calls between your last redial. The call log is messy, and navigating it is a pain. It only shows 5 calls per set but can store up to 99 calls. I find when in the call log, if I'm on call number 5 and I press the down arrow to proceed to the next set of 5 calls, it brings my cursor to call number 5 in the next set of 5 calls, not call number 1. If I want to see caller details for someone that's say call number 7, I have to scroll down just to scroll back up.2) To my knowledge, there is no way to override Caller ID date/time. Not that this is an issue, but one of my lines has a tendency to set the phone time back an hour and the phone company doesn't know why. However, I'm also finding that this phone gets very confused at 12pm (noon). Instead of going from 11:59am to 12:00pm, it goes to 12:00am. Until I get an inbound call or manually reset the time, it says at 12:00am. It's not a Caller ID issue that's causing this problem, it's something with the phone itself.3) There is no automatic redial feature, something I miss dearly from my GE system. I don't know how much others miss this feature, but I do.4) If you answer a call on one of the cordless handsets, the base station and other handsets count that call as missed. Something small, but yet annoying because when arriving back at my desk, the base station reads "1 New Call" as if I missed the call completely. The look of the phone itself is great, and even though I was worried about the size of the dial pad, I've found it to be a great size. However, after a month of use, I think I'm going to return the system and go back to my GE. While the system might be antiquated and doesn't have built in attendants or an answering machine, the core features that I need in order to be efficient are there.

Terrible after sales service
The main phone had keypads that remained stuck. There would be a screeching sound from the receiver at the end of the call.We first called the company in February, asking to change the phone, as it was still under warranty. It is now September, and many telephone and emails later, with this defective phone still in our office.I have given up, will throw it out.
