Firefly Season 1

No power in the verse could keep me from getting this. Too bad Disney gonna re boot this and ruin it like so much else they do

I am rating the programming, not necessarily the specific BlueRay package.Firefly is one of my favorite SciFi series of all time. It had great casting of diverse, multi-dimensional characters who form a somewhat dysfunctional "family", develop over time, and grow on you (to the point that you care what happens to them), unique and interesting plots (often with twists at the end), wry humor, a ship that takes on qualities of an additional character, and an internally consistent surrounding "universe". Firefly had most of the elements that gave the original "Star Trek" its generational staying power, with upgraded edginess and production values enabled by 36 years of societal and cinematic development. It compares favorably to even more recent SciFi series in a similar vein, like the Expanse. Firefly is definitely worth watching, even twenty years after its original premier. The Firefly movie - Serenity - is even better (in my opinion), and shows what Firefly could have developed into over a couple of years, if Fox had launched it right, and had the foresight to stick with it and develop it into a multi-decade franchise (ala Star Trek) instead of canceling it due to disappointing short-term ratings (more echoes of Star Trek).

Loved this series, really wish they would have continued it.

The more I watched the more I loved this show. It goes places - with character - that precious few shows go.Does anyone remember “Far Out Space Nuts” as fondly as Firefly?? But so many fondly remember FIREFLY because it’s just good sci-fi.True to it’s name - it’s like a bright burst of interesting light from a short-lived flying creature.Highly recommend the bluray set as it includes some extra material.

One of the best Sci-Fi fantasy shows ever (come on a western in space) with one of the greatest cast ever assembled!!!!! The idiot at Fox who cancelled the show should have been fired a second after cancelling the show and never be allowed to work in television again 😡 also Nathan Fillion had the best idea for a reboot, find a new cast and start from the beginning, they found the absolute best cast possible the first time I'm sure they could do it again ✌️

Firefly is a one season, way above average, space opera that I really found a breath of fresh air. It is unlike Star Trek in that the series takes place within one solar system, and has no aliens. It's about the crew of one ship - the Firefly class cargo hauler, Serenity. The crew - almost always just one step ahead of the authorities - is an interesting group of outliers (and would be outlaws) who are just trying to eek out a living on the fringes of humanity's recently adopted home system of planets. They go from one terraformed outer planet or moon to the next doing jobs that involve either smuggling or other scores that most crews won't take. Needless to say, their line of business becomes very risky and some dust ups, or business "disagreements" are inevitable. Firefly is uncharacteristically authentic and almost never preaches the tropes of other sci-fi shows. It also has an interesting sense of humor (characters often swear in Chinese, among other things).After its cancellation, many of the fans rallied to the cause and the series creator (Joss Whedon) put a feature film together based on the series. Serenity was the result. I think both are really good, but that's for another review.

this was a replacement. Amazon didn't blink in sending the replacement and fast to boot. What I got the second time is clean and easy to read. I'm happy.

I really think Fox realize they screwed up when they canceled the show because they came out with a movie inwhich I love it too

I really really wanted to like this boxset. While it's very pretty and actually really cool as an overall product, as a way of storing disks it just falls shortThe sleeve that holds the disks in place is only folded and glued, so while it looks great and is a fairly clever idea, in operation its a pain!. My copy the glue had come away so the disks weren't held in place, not an issue I simply warmed and resealed/seated the folds.Getting the disks in and out of the sleeve is a nightmare though, there is literally no way to not get finger prints on the disk and if you happen to get any dirt in there by accident then that's the end of your disk.The content included in the box isn't bad, couple of post cards and a map, no new content on any of the disks that would set it above any other box set. The actual box everything comes in is gorgeous though!Oh and as a final note, nowhere on the advert (that I could see) states that the boxset is Region 1, I was worried that I would have to return the boxset as I'm in the UK, however they play fine on my Xbox.

Christmas present went down a treat. Excellent purchase for a fan of the series in my case, but imagine anyone interested in the genre would be happy with it too.

I NOW UNDERSTAND THE FILM

Al principio temía que la presentación del paquete del 15th Aniversario hubiera cambiado, debido a que la foto actual que aparece en la publicación del producto no corresponde, porque anteriormente tenia la foto correcta, pero de repente un día cambió. Pero afortunadamente, el paquete sigue siendo el mismo como la primera vez que vi la publicación del producto y contiene todas las cosas que se muestra las fotos secundarias. Fue una excelente compra, digna de cualquier coleccionista. Es una verdadera lástima que la FOX no le dio continuidad al proyecto.

Muy buena serie, creo que se puede decir que es un western espacial, personajes muy bien definidos y situaciones que van de lo chusco y divertido a la acción, ya la vi dos veces y voy por la tercera. Sólo es una temporada pero, al terminar con esta serie no se olviden de ver la película Serenity para que sepan que pasó después.
