Sad tale of love and grief
"Pack up the moon" is a poignant tale of love, loss, and the enduring power of memories. The story follows a man who is left shattered by the death of his beloved wife, who had been battling a terminal illness. Truly disappointing
Kristan Higgins' Pack Up the Moon follows Joshua Park, a widower grappling with the unexpected death of his wife, Lauren. Given his solitary life as a scientist and his small social circle, Joshua is ill-equipped to navigate this new, unwanted phase of his life. Lauren, however, had a plan to help him through his grief—twelve letters meant to guide him through the first year without her. While the concept of the novel is promising, unfortunately, the execution left much to be desired. I found the book to be excessively repetitive and dull, to the point of frustration. The sentimental tone is overwhelming, and Joshua Park, the protagonist, comes across as unconvincing and one-dimensional. The narrative fails to develop beyond a series of mundane events, and the flashbacks intended to add depth only become a source of annoyance. In summary, despite my efforts to engage with the story, I had to abandon the book at 30%. It is, regrettably, one of the worst I have encountered from this author. This may not be the right choice for readers seeking a more compelling exploration of grief and recovery.

Oh how I sobbed. So emotional!Filled with love ,tears and heart !
I want to tell author Kristan Higgins that with each book she should give you a box of Kleenex or make that two boxes with each book purchase.Such a good yet highly emotional read about loss and living after loss of the one you love .I sobbed ,I laughed , yes laughed a few times because some how some way during my heaving sobs this author was able to throw me a life line and gave me something that was sweet and lovely and at times laugh worthy. This book is all about a young woman who lost her beloved dad very suddenly, then a few years later she goes to being the bride to the man of her heart and soul who is then told she is terminal at only 26 years old. It's about her dealing with her illness , her feelings her limited future. It's also all about her wonderful husband 's agonizing journey before and after her death .The pain of the entire family is on full display, it's realistic and it hurts to read but if you have lost you will see yourself so its extremely moving as well .Whether you die suddenly or slowly, this book really shows how much it effects you if you are the one left behind. It was heartbreaking, heartwrenching, beautiful, touching, inspiring, sad and my heart actually hurt reading it. But I loved it too , I loved the characters, the realness, I loved the ending. There was great love in between these pages and yes alot of smiles and even laughter .Kristan Higgins grabs your heart and doesn't let go until the beautiful ending. Wow Kristan Higgins I'm not a attractive crier so thanks for the ugly cries all weekend long ,I think ,lol. Your next book needs to be about rainbows and unicorns, beautiful brides , funny wedding guests , cute puppies and adorable toddler's talking adorable toddler talk please because although I loved this book and I truly did it's going to take my heart some time to get over it too .

Exceeded my expectations
This book is unexpected in its sequence of events and its description of the characters. The reader gets to know them very well.Kristan Higgins is one of my favourite writers though not all of her books are 5 stars, definitely 4 or 4.5.This one is by far one of the very best. It's not like any other book written by Kristan Higgins. You will be suprised in many different ways.
