It arrived on time and is exactly as shown in the photos. It did protect the area from water.

I have a central line chest catheter (and I’ve also had the peritoneal port)…but this review is for the chest catheter. I cut to size and make sure the catheter and surrounding skin is completely covered with the tape. I’ve had my catheter in for a little over a year. NEVER HAD A PROBLEM TAKING A SHOWER WITH THIS TAPE! This tape works wonders! My catheter stays dry! Now, I don’t recommend…but I have even gone swimming!! (In a pool…stay away from lakes and such!) I trust this product…with my life! Literally!!To use:1. Cut tape to desired length2. Look for the end of that piece where there is a strip of backing you remove first so that you can easily remove the bigger piece of backing.3. Place the tape over the area and press/smooth over the tape4. On the front side, gently pull the blue tabs in opposite directions to remove the plastic lining.5. Ensure the edges of the tape are firmly stuck to your skin by doing one more smoothing motion.Tip: Don’t use a lot of layers. The most I’d recommend is two layers (but it wasn’t necessary for me unless the piece I cut wasn’t long enough to cover the lines of the port.Ask your nurse to cover your port lines with gauze and tape when they clean your port. It helps to have something for the tape to stick to. And I usually leave the tape on until my nurse does the next port cleaning.You do not want to be exposing your entry point. If you try to remove the tape it’s going to take any gauze you have with it! Plus if you’re getting out the shower, you don’t want to remove it anyway because if you’re still wet, water can drip on your exposed port and you NEVER want to get your port or entry point wet! It’s connected to your heart…you must be careful!! I actually had my sister help me place it the first couple of times until I got the hang of it…so it’s ok to ask for help!! Or try placing the tape on your arm or leg to test it out. Run water over your arm or leg. Take off the tape and see if the area under the tape is dry…just a suggestion.I really hope this helps someone out there. Dialysis sucks but your life doesn’t have to. Just keep pushing! Used to cover wearable heart monitor during water aerobics and while showering. Needed to cover the monitor with gauze to prevent sticking and used additional tape around the edges. Mark sure you read the directions for removing the backing. The film can easily stick to itself.

This product use to be great. Something has changed. My husband wears a piece daily to kind of hold his PD Catheter next to his body. That way it is not hanging or swinging around. He has complained daily that it's irritating his skin. Now he has a open wound from scratching. Not sure if they changed the type of glue they use now compared to before. Much harder to peel off the backing as well. I will he looking for other options more gentle on the skin.

After a GI bleedfound unfortunately leftme using a wound vac when that was taken off I still had a wound to tend to 3 months in hospital with only sponge bath on a good day a shower was much needed this product covers and if there is a loose end i tape it up I shower freely and without concern my dressing getting wet .. I would recommend hands down.

Purchased this to keep an abdominal wound dry in the shower. After trying many different products, this one worked the best!

Worked very well to cover a bandage on a long incision on thigh from femur break surgery. Bandaged incision had to be kept dry. After 6 days at hospital and 10 in health care where there was hardly an opportunity for a “sponge bath,” there was nothing more important to me than getting a shower at home. I needed assistance in putting the protective film on because the incision and its bandage was on outer rear of thigh. Helper and I discovered that if “paper type” bandage tape was placed over the narrow ends of the long bandage, the adhesive film did not pull at the long bandage when the film was removed. It was 100% worth the cost. A very clever product. I bought the 8” wide roll because the bandage was about 5” x 15”.
