As a leader, Washington did not seek personal power or privilege. His acceptance of the leadership of the new army and of the new nation came with humility, faith, and trust in God. Whether in business or community, religion or family, the qualities of leadership that he exemplified can inspire each of us. We should seek out and encourage the best of Washington's qualities in those that lead us today. Role models, including teachers, parents, community leaders, and elected officials can demonstrate compassionate leadership everyday for our children to emulate.

Lacking information
I understand this is a young children's video but it left out a lot of detail that I feel is important to American history. The main things not included are: 1) George Washington as the first president; 2) George Washington on the Constitutional Convention; 3) George Washington sent to the Ohio River Valley with a letter from Governor Dinwiddie setting off the French and Indian War. Also, and I guess this is because it is a family video, it never really showed the outcome of the events. I have enjoyed other videos from the maker.

Great video
This is a great and accurate movie. I do wish it had gotten into his praying, but it was still good and accurate. This does not get into him being President, but is all prior to his presidency, nor does it detail any of his childhood.

This DVD quality was ok; however, the story was very short and did not do a good job of showing why Washington is considered an American hero. I recommend Liberty Kids as a much better option to illustrate Washington's role in America, the Revolution, and his (believed) personality.

George Washington DVD
My kids LOVE this series of DVDs. They've enjoyed getting to know about various leaders & inspirational people from around the world and through out history who have paved the way, and shaped our world for the better. George Washington's DVD is one that has sparked a lot of educational talks about all that he did. While there are some things missing from the DVD, what is fit into the DVD is just right for younger children to learn about George Washington.
