CAP Olympic Barbell - 5FT, 6FT, & 7FT Strength Training Weight Bars, Multiple Options

My husband and I have had a wide variety from low to mid-range fitness and strength products over the years, so when he wanted a lower-priced Oly barbell, we thought of Cap as our experiences have overall been good with them for over 25 years. We have found that sometimes their chromed equipment has sharp edges or flakes, so we went with the 60in, Solid Bar, Black. My husband is lifting 300 pounds max - usually less - and I'm lifting 100 or under, so this bar seemed good.And it is just what we wanted. It's lighter than an official bar but heavier than a 1-inch standard bar, the black finish is attractive with no flaking or sharp edges at all. The knurling is comfortable and grippy. The sleeves don't stick, and while I don't think they have bearings or bushings, for this price, we weren't expecting any. The black finish is coming off of the sleeves in a couple small places, but for the price, we expected that. We're using it almost daily, with and without a small rack, and are completely satisfied.This is a budget-priced all-solid bar, so we didn't expect an Ohio Power Bar or something like that. We bought this bar as it will work for our needs and costs around 1/4 of the price of a value bar and about 1/8th of a price or less of a high end bar, but we don't need a high end bar. And to bring a solid bar in at this price range, there are going to be compromises, but we knew that going in.Overall if you don't want to spend too much money but don't want a hollow barbell, this is a solid option. We're getting a lot of use out of it, and plan to keep using it for years to come.

This 5-foot CAP Olympic Bar is absolutely perfect for a home gym setup where space is a premium. We specifically chose the 5 ft option because we use a small squat rack (not a full power rack), and this bar fits the dimensions exactly without sticking out awkwardly.For my partner and me (both around 5'6" and 5'7" tall), the shorter length feels completely natural for squats, presses, and deadlifts. It provides a full, challenging workout while saving significant room compared to a standard 7 ft bar. We opted for this barbell because of the 6ft option. We don’t have tons of space for our home gym and this was perfect. It’s high quality and durable, great purchase for home gyms!

The packaging caught me off guard. It looked like they didn’t have a box long enough for the barbell, so one end was sticking out of the box during shipping. Both end caps were damaged, but fortunately the barbell itself arrived without any damage.I bought the 5ft bar mainly for exercises like hip thrusts, overhead presses, and bicep curls. My 7ft olympic bar is a little too long for those movements because I’m petite. This shorter bar is much easier to handle and move around.The loadable sleeves are long enough for my needs. I can fit 35lb, 25lb, 15lb, and 10lb plates with a little room left over.One thing I was disappointed by is that the shaft is shorter than I expected, so it doesn’t fit on my squat rack. I’ll only be using it for exercises from the floor.Be aware that the dimensions listed in the product description are inaccurate, so I’d recommend double checking before buying. The overall length is correctly listed as 5ft (60inches), but my measurements are:Shaft: 32 3/4”Knurling: 10” (each)Loadable sleeve: 12” (each)Collar: 1 5/8” (each)Considering the low price, I think the overall quality is very good. The knurling and finish both exceeded my expectations. Just make sure the actual dimensions will work for your rack and intended use before purchasing.

This 6ft barbell has been a great addition to my home gym. It feels solid and well-balanced, with a comfortable grip that makes lifting feel secure and controlled. It fits standard plates easily and works well for a variety of exercises like squats, presses, rows, and deadlifts. The bar has a nice weight to it and feels durable, with no bending or flexing during use.

I've been using this bar 3-4 times a week for three years now. It is holding up well -- some of the paint / finish has started flaking off, but I don't mind as it hasn't affected my use at all. 5 foot bar can easily fit enough weight for my needs -- I use it in my tiny basement home gym. Excellent value, would recommend.

Bought 5 foot bar to use with my 7 foot one for works out. Great addition to gym.

A shorter barbell that fits across my CAP squat rack which I got back in 2020. I don't have a lot of space for a gym, and after careful consideration, this barbell can sit upright in the cylinder in the back of the rack, so no extra space taken! Came in perfect condition despite the box being thoroughly destroyed, it can't be easy shipping heavy gym items :) Love the size and the weight, and also acts are a bar for Australian pull-ups. Satisfied with this other CAP item!
