Does this replacement cover fit a hitachi c8fb2 9.5 amp 8-1/2-inch sliding compound miter saw?

I do not think so. Base on the look they are very much different.

The product photograph shows 3 plastic parts. I only received 2 parts. Shouldn't they include the central piece that goes over the blade teeth?

Doesn't fit the C8FB2, only the C8FB. Sad because I can't find the (two-piece - not three) guard set for my C8FB2 anywhere. Completely nonexistent!

No it is not, this would be for a C8FB which is a 3 piece cover. The C8FB2 has a 2 piece cover.

Fits just like the original

I have the C8FB sliding compound miter saw which I bought new in ‘88. Old guard finally gave out and this provided the perfect replacement. It’s even clear enough to see through now!
