Interesting book!
This was a little advanced for my son. He’s 4. But he still enjoyed it and he drew his own birds afterwards. I loved this book myself and I love that it is a smart and rich story, not dumbed down. So much to discuss and intrigue you and your kiddos.

such a beautifully illustrated book
This is such a beautifully illustrated book. I'd have liked more substance to the written content, however, the illustrations and basic story make the book a good purchase.

Good children's book about Audubon
This is a good story for children who love art, birds, or both! I use it in an ornithology unit with 2nd graders, and we spend a good portion of the unit studying art inspired by birds. We look at several artists, and this book helps illustrate Audubon's interest in collecting and drawing nature. It does a good job at building his character in the eyes of a young child. Sure, it is simplified, but it is a children's book. It would be an especially good read for quirky young collectors of found objects in nature.

Good biography
A children's biography. I got this book to add to our school classroom library, so my students could learn more about famous scientists. I would not say it's the book that draws the most readers, but since we study birds and conservation, it's appropriate to use for some of our curriculum, and the students enjoy reading in this format more than in a textook. It's got good illlustrations, and the story line flows.

Not the best
Not sure if this is really a kid book. Audubon was not a blond with pointy nose in any other book. The information about ‘banding’ was interesting.

all excellent
The book was in excellent condition, and so inexpensive! The story is a compelling one for a third-grader and her grandma!

Great Book
I am a homeschooling mother and therefore always on the look out for great educational material. This book ticks all the boxes. It's a history book and it also explains why birds migrate in winter. The images are beautiful, the story is engaging and not too long. My daughter is 5 years old and she loves this book. We often read it for a bedtime story, its just great.

A great kids book!
Purchased as a Christmas gift for my six year old daughter. She loves the book and has been in our nightly rotation of reading. We purchased the Audubon bird coloring book with it and she has loved working in it.
